What are the main projects of "Key Technologies and Equipment for Deepwater Oil and Gas Exploration and Development in South China Sea"?

In 2006, in order to improve China's deep-sea oil and gas exploration and development capacity, form an industrial chain of deep-sea oil and gas exploration and development, enhance China's offshore oil and gas industry's ability to participate in international competition, push China's equipment manufacturing industry into deep-water high-end fields, and realize the leap-forward development of China's deep-sea oil and gas exploration and development technology, the Ocean Technology Office of the "863 Plan" launched a major project on the basis of extensive and in-depth strategic research and demand analysis. A total of 243 million yuan was invested in the project, and 405 million yuan was invested in R&D by each undertaking unit. The project organization attracted the Ministry of Land and Resources, the Ministry of Education, the State Oceanic Administration, China Petroleum Group, China Offshore Oil Group, China Petrochemical Group, CSIC and other departments, as well as engineering and technical research units, research institutes and universities affiliated to 104 large group companies to participate in tackling key problems, and the number of researchers participating in the R&D task of the project reached 65,438.

The project applied for 286 patents, including 149 invention patents, 154 authorized patents and 45 invention patents. Obtained 65 software copyright registrations, published 93 papers1,and published 6 monographs; Formulated 10 national and industrial technical standards and established two research bases; A large number of high-level talents in the field of deepwater oil and gas exploration and development urgently needed by China have been trained, including 207 doctors, 396 masters and nearly 100 leading talents in experimental design and engineering. The results of the project provide technical support for the first batch of four deep-water oil and gas exploration wells in the South China Sea and more than 50,000 kilometers of deep-water oil and gas comprehensive geophysical exploration operations.

During the Twelfth Five-Year Plan period, based on the research and development achievements of key technologies and equipment for deepwater oil and gas exploration and development in the Eleventh Five-Year Plan, the "863 Plan" started the project of "Key Technologies and Equipment for Deepwater Oil and Gas Exploration and Development in the South China Sea" in the field of marine technology, with a planned investment of 450 million yuan. The project will take the enterprise as the lead unit, further conquer a series of core key technologies and promote the industrialization of a number of major equipment, with a view to providing strong technical and equipment support for safeguarding China's maritime rights and interests and promoting China's oil and gas industry to go deep water and overseas.

The major project "Key Technologies and Equipment for Deep-water Oil and Gas Exploration and Development in South China Sea" focuses on three key technologies of deep-water oil and gas resources exploration, drilling and completion, offshore engineering and safety guarantee, and has completed the research and development of design and construction technologies for deep-water semi-submersible drilling platforms and deep-water pipe-laying systems. It is China's first deep-water semi-submersible drilling platform "Offshore Oil 98 1" and the first deep-water pipe-laying ship "Offshore Oil 20 1" Independently developed the first set of high-precision offshore seismic exploration technology and equipment in China, and initially formed a comprehensive geophysical exploration and evaluation technology suitable for deep-water oil and gas basins in the South China Sea. Developed deep-water core equipment engineering prototypes such as deep-water blowout preventer, deep-water drilling riser and deep-water underwater wellhead; Key technologies such as deep water well structural design, surface drilling, well control, drilling fluid, cementing and completion testing with independent intellectual property rights of China have been developed and successfully applied to deep water oil and gas exploration and development projects in the South China Sea. A public test platform for deep-water oil and gas engineering has been built, with a test capability of 4,000m deep-water offshore engineering. Significant progress has been made in new platform design technology and platform safety assessment technology in disaster marine environment. These achievements have initially formed the technical ability of deep-water oil and gas exploration and development in 3000 meters water depth, and provided technical support for the exploration and development of deep-water oil and gas fields in 300 ~ 3000 meters water depth in China.
