What to do if lolita gets silky lolita skirt fabric

Many fabrics of lolita skirts are relatively fragile, and the skirts are all printed with patterns. Once the skirt is snagging or snagging, it will greatly affect the eyebrows of the skirt. So what should I do about the snagging of the lolita skirt?

What should I do if lolita is spinning?

If it is a small area of ??spinning, take your time to find the spinning line, pick it out and slowly pull it back to its original place. When a large area of ??silk appears on the skirt, you can choose to buy a veil that can complement the color of the skirt and wear it on the outside to cover the large areas of silk on the skirt. When choosing a veil, everyone only needs to choose according to the characteristics of their own skirt. There are many Lolitas with particularly stunning effects when paired with veils.

lolita skirt fabric

1. Chiffon

The scientific name is georgette. Generally refers to light and thin silk fabrics. In addition to silk chiffon, the main ingredients of various chiffon commonly available on the market are chemical fibers, including polyester, spandex, nylon, etc. Generally speaking, it is easier to get silky. But there are also some anti-snapping processes, but many of them have applied for patents. Presumably this kind of fabric will be more expensive. There are many types of chiffon, and some of the names we often hear are: messy chiffon, pearl chiffon, thick chiffon, etc. Let me explain it to you one by one. To put it directly, chiffon may be plain weave chiffon, usually 100% polyester. This kind is the easiest to get silky! !

Tangled chiffon actually has nothing to do with hemp... Tangled chiffon is just a way of organizing yarn. In fact, this kind of fabric is usually a blend of polyester, nylon and the like. Generally speaking (note! Not all! Just most) are thinner and the yarn is thinner. They may pill and the surface feels a little numb. The degree of spinning is probably medium, and depending on the craftsmanship, there may be almost no spinning. Pearl chiffon is a fabric commonly used in many shirts and petticoats. It is thin and very droopy and feels a little cool when it touches the skin. It feels gritty and grainy. It feels number than messy chiffon and is not easy to use. Snagging.

2. Man-made fibers (the so-called chemical fibers)

Tencel: a patented man-made fiber, which is relatively comfortable, soft and has a good drape. Generally speaking, it is easy to get silky, and the higher the Tencel composition is, the easier it is. And this fabric is quite delicate, so there are a lot of things to pay attention to when washing it. But... in fact, the ultimate fate is to enter the washing machine qwq

Polyester: It is polyester fiber. Polyester or fabrics with a high polyester content are more wear-resistant, wrinkle-resistant and less deformable, but they are not breathable and have poor hygroscopicity, so they are prone to static electricity and pilling. Polyester fabrics can evolve into 10,000 different forms based on craftsmanship and weaving methods, so just saying 100% polyester is a bit inaccurate... After all, there is no way to touch the fabric before making a decision on a small skirt.

Sunshine hemp: a kind of messy chiffon, the main component is polyester, which is also easy to smear and may also pill.

3. Natural fibers

Cotton: I don’t need to explain this fabric, everyone knows something about it. Even if they are all cotton fabrics, there will be big differences depending on the craftsmanship (nonsense), but if you take a very detailed picture, everyone should be able to imagine what the fabric looks like. And what I want to say is that among blended fabrics (see the next category "Blended"), the higher the cotton content, the better the breathability, but the easier it is to wrinkle, and it is not as straight or shiny. Pure cotton fabric does not pill, and unless it is extremely thin, it is not prone to snagging.

Double palace silk: This is actually just the name of the yarn. The fabric woven from double palace silk is called double palace silk. This fabric itself has streaks that look like stringing (which is not the case), so I don’t know if it is easy to string or not... but based on the description of the fabric itself, I think there is still stringing. possible.

4. Blended fabrics

Polyester-cotton blended fabrics: Literally, the specific meaning depends on the proportion and weaving method. If the cotton content is relatively high, it will be easier to wrinkle and more breathable and comfortable. If the polyester content is higher, it will be stiffer and less likely to wrinkle, but will pill. See the properties of cotton and polyester above for details. Polyester-cotton blended fabric can be said to be one of my favorite fabrics. It is relatively balanced in all aspects and is not prone to spinning. It is also not expensive. The disadvantage is that it may pill. If you see an everyday skirt made of this kind of fabric and the picture looks good, I think you can consider it.

Tencel cotton: There are actually two types of Tencel cotton. One is to weave (interweave) Tencel yarn and cotton yarn together, and the other is to directly mix Tencel and cotton into one. Yarn is grown and then weaved (blended). This sounds complicated, but you should understand if I put it this way: the lining of the skirt is usually intertwined Tencel cotton because it looks a bit like nylon, and the fabric may be blended Tencel cotton because it looks like More like cotton. No pilling, but there is a possibility of stringing.

Cotton and linen blend: It has the characteristics of both cotton and linen. It has good breathability and moisture absorption but is not as soft as pure cotton, but it wrinkles easily. It is generally not easy to get silky. Country style and Chinese style skirts are more commonly used.

Key points

Fabrics that are prone to spinning include: various chiffons (including tangled linen, sunshine linen, etc.), Tencel, and Tencel cotton.

Fabrics that are prone to pilling include: polyester and other chemical fiber-based fabrics, and polyester-cotton blends.

Fabrics that wrinkle easily include: cotton, linen, and fabrics with a relatively high content of cotton and linen.

Lolita washing and care tips

1. Use cold water to wash, the water temperature should not be higher than 45°C, wash dark and light colored lolita skirts separately to avoid staining.

2. The soaking time should not be too long, be as gentle as possible during the rinsing process, and never twist the skirt.

3. Do not use the washing machine to dehydrate and spin, and do not wring it too hard. It is better to dry it on the reverse side and let it drip dry naturally.

4. During the drying process, the print of the skirt should be facing inward, and dry in reverse in a dark and ventilated place. Be careful not to expose it to the sun, and be careful of fading~
