Legal analysis: there are two main ways to apply for design patents, namely, self-application and entrusted application. The fee for applying for a design patent is as follows: 1. Application fee for design patent: the application fee is full in 500 yuan; When the reduction ratio is 85%, 75 yuan will be charged; When the reduction ratio is 70%, the cost is 150 yuan. 2. Design patent registration, printing fee and stamp duty: the fee is 205 yuan, which is not reduced. 3. Annual fee for design patent: when the design patent is granted 1-3 years, the annual fee is 600 yuan; When the reduction ratio is 85%, the annual fee is 90 yuan; When the reduction ratio is 70%, the annual fee is 180 yuan.
Legal basis: Article 27 of the Patent Law of People's Republic of China (PRC), when applying for a patent for design, documents such as a request, a picture or photograph of the design and a brief description of the design shall be submitted. The relevant pictures or photographs submitted by the applicant shall clearly indicate the design of the product for which patent protection is required.
