Profile of Real Estate Tycoon

Real Estate Tycoon

It is a multiplayer strategy board game. Participants receive game money and rely on luck (rolling dice) and trading strategies to buy land and build buildings to earn rent. The original English name (Monopoly) means "monopoly" because in the end there was only one winner and the rest ended in bankruptcy. The game was originally designed to expose the shortcomings of laissez-faire capitalism. It is estimated that Monopoly is the most played board game in the world, with over 500 million people playing it since the original version was launched in 1904. Parker Brothers in the United States released Monopoly on November 5, 1935. The British version was launched in 1936 by Waddington Games. Monopoly grew in popularity in the United States during the Great Depression.

Although most people think that Monopoly was invented by Charles Darrow, in fact, as early as 1904, Lizie J. Magie had patented a similar game, "The Landlord's Game" . The game evolved into different versions, and some people called it "Monopoly." Charles Darrow sold the patent rights to "Monopoly" to Parker Brothers without authorization, and it has now become a product of the Hasbro Group.

In the early days, there was no officially authorized version of Monopoly in the Chinese region. Many local game companies called its culture "Monopoly", but Hasbro has now officially re-translated Monopoly into "Real Estate Tycoon" has launched different regional versions such as Hong Kong version and Taiwan version in the Chinese-speaking region, although most people still use the popular name.

Atlantic City Edition - Atlantic City Edition is the earliest version of Monopoly. Board 1 has 40 squares, including 28 real estate squares. The properties are all named after Atlantic City, New Jersey, and nearby areas, and because the most expensive property is the Boardwalk, it is also called the "Boardwalk Edition."

Hong Kong version - The board has 40 cells, 28 of which are properties, 3 cells for "opportunities", 3 cells for "public treasures"; "starting point", "income tax", "prison or visit" , "parking lot", "prison" and "salary tax" all occupy 1 space. The Hong Kong version is named after places in Hong Kong Island, Kowloon and the New Territories. Rules: Double rent can be collected if all lands of the same color are obtained. Rent cannot be collected in free parking. Transactions between players cannot be carried out during the roll of the dice.

Taiwan version - In the early years, Taiwanese manufacturers copied Monopoly from the American company Hasbro and called it "Monopoly", but the place names, "destiny" and "opportunity" were all based on Taiwan's 1960s. Mainly based on the situation, it is one of the most famous board games in Taiwan. This game has also been adapted into a computer version by Daewoo Information, a Taiwanese computer game manufacturer. * Represents the player's chess piece. Chess piece shapes include: hat, iron, scoter, dreadnought, rook, wheelbarrow, sleeve, cannon, horse and rider, boots. In 1999, he joined the Big Money Bag after voting online. As for the paperback version, there are chess pieces with local characteristics in other regions. For example: Bauhinia (Hong Kong version), Ruins of St. Paul's (Macau version).

* Two six-sided dice.

* Property title deed. The land deed states the property price, mortgage price, building costs, and government rent details. The property includes:

o 22 streets (divided into eight groups)

o 4 stations. No houses can be built on the station. (Different from the real situation: the property above the station brings considerable income to the Hong Kong Metro)

o 2 public utilities; no houses can be built.

o Game banknotes (old version 15,140 yuan, new version 151,400 yuan).

o Wooden or plastic chess pieces representing buildings (32 pieces) and hotels (12 pieces).

o "Opportunity" card and "Public Treasure" card. Roll* Two dice are rolled each time. If the dice are the same, you can get one more round. If you go to jail in this round, the extra rounds will be cancelled. The same thing happened three times in a row and went directly to jail.

* You can withdraw 200 yuan each time you arrive at or pass through Go (subject to the standard version).

* When reaching a land that no one owns, players can choose whether to buy it or not. If you don't buy it, the bank will auction it. There is no limit to the minimum price. Players who arrive can also participate in the auction.

* When you reach land owned by someone, the landowner can collect rent according to regulations in this round.

Property

* When reaching unowned land, players can choose whether to buy it or not. If you don't buy it, the bank will auction it.

* The money in the bank is unlimited, but the buildings are limited (32 houses and 12 hotels).

* Players can trade with each other to exchange money, property and bail cards. See transaction entry.

Houses and Inns

* If you own all unencumbered lots of the same color, you can choose to build a house before any player rolls, except for extra turns for rolling the same number.

* The house must be built on the land where there are currently the fewest houses, which means that the houses must be built evenly.

* Cannot be built on mortgaged land.

* When all the land is filled with four houses, the player can choose to build a hotel. After the hotel is completed, the four rooms must be handed over to the bank.

* Only one hotel can be built on a piece of land.

* You can build multiple houses at one time, and even build a hotel directly, but still meet the average principle (the hotel is regarded as five houses).

* When multiple players want to build a house at the same time, but the bank does not have enough houses, the bidding is decided.

Cash* Players can sell buildings to the bank in exchange for half-price cash. When selling, they must still maintain an average number of houses of the same color, which means they must sell the land with the most houses.

A hotel is worth the same as five houses and can be sold separately, provided the bank can provide the remaining houses in change. At this time, the principle of average must still be maintained, which means that if the bank does not have any houses, the player can only choose to sell all the hotels in the same color land.

* Players can mortgage land to the bank in exchange for half-price cash. There cannot be buildings on the land used for mortgage. The mortgaged land cannot collect rent, but the player still owns the title deed.

* Players may redeem tiles before any player rolls, except for extra turns resulting from rolling the same number. When redeeming the land, an additional interest of 10% of the mortgage value must be paid, and if there is a decimal amount, the interest will be paid unconditionally.

Trading

* At any time, players can trade land without buildings with their opponents. The transaction negotiated first will be processed first.

* No borrowing or lending between players is allowed.

* After trading the mortgaged land, the new owner has to pay a transaction tax of 10% of the mortgage value to the bank, and can choose to redeem it immediately without paying additional interest. If you do not redeem it immediately, you will still have to pay an additional 10% interest on the mortgage value when you redeem it in the future.

* Bail cards can be traded, up to a limit of $50.

Jailed

* While in jail, you can still collect rent, build a house or trade, but you can't move.

* When in jail, the player can choose to use a bail card or pay a fine of fifty yuan to get out of jail before rolling the dice.

* When in jail, you can only move (get out of jail) if you roll the same number, and there will be no extra turns.

* If the player in jail does not roll the same number until the third round, the player will pay a fine of fifty yuan and be released from prison immediately, and move according to the number just rolled.

Bankruptcy

* If after selling or pledging all assets there is still not enough cash to pay debts, the player is declared bankrupt. The mortgaged land is transferred to the creditor, and the creditor must immediately pay a transaction tax of 10% of the mortgage value. (See transaction entry)

* If the creditor is a bank, the bank auctions all mortgaged land.

* If the creditor is multiple players (such as paying 50 to other players at once), the bank will repay the debt and auction all mortgaged land.

Victory conditions can be adjusted based on the game's budgeted time. The game has a high element of luck, and the player's position is determined entirely by rolling dice.

Because the property may have been purchased by the player who rolled the dice earlier, the player who rolled the dice last is often at a disadvantage than the others. Nonetheless, game strategy can greatly improve your chances of winning. When six people compete, there is a high chance that no one will be able to buy the land of the same color by luck. If we don't trade for lands, the game will go on endlessly.

The following should be noted:

* If you are imprisoned in the early stages of the game, you should pay the fine and get out of prison as soon as possible to gain the opportunity to purchase land. At the end of the game, when most players have developed their sphere of influence, going to jail can prevent them from falling into other people's property. At this time, three dice rolls should be used to delay the chance of being released from prison and increase the chance of others stepping into your own land. opportunity.

* When paying "income tax", the player must immediately decide to pay 2,000 yuan or 10% of total assets.

* Building just one or two houses on your property is not a successful investment. The rent for three houses is more than twice as high as that for one or two houses.
