"Windows XP Service Pack 3 release notes.
These release notes are used to solve the latest problems and provide information about Windows XP Service Pack 3(SP3). Unless otherwise noted, these instructions apply to all versions of Windows XP SP3.
Windows XP SP3 contains all the updates previously released by this operating system. These updates also include some new features. For more information, please refer to the Microsoft Download Center (/fwlink/? Windows XP SP3 overview of LinkID= 1 15773).

If you have installed the beta version of Windows Internet Explorer 7 or Internet Explorer 8 and then installed Windows XP SP3, you cannot uninstall Internet Explorer.
To avoid this problem, make sure that the beta version of Internet Explorer 7 or Internet Explorer 8 is not installed before installing Windows XP SP3.
If you encounter this problem, please uninstall Windows XP SP3, Internet Explorer and then reinstall Windows XP SP3.

Multilingual user interface (MUI) package
On a computer running the English version of Windows XP SP3 with Windows XP SP2 multilingual user interface (MUI) package, you can choose a non-English language for the user interface (UI). However, the text can be displayed in English instead of the language selected in the UI. English text may be displayed in lists, menus, dialog boxes, product help and other locations. This problem affects the following components:
Microsoft Management Console 3.0
Remote Desktop Protocol (RDP) 6. 1
Network access protection (NAP)
Script binary file
To solve this problem, please download the multilingual user interface package update for Windows XP SP3 from the following address: /fwlink/? LinkID= 1 15847。

Remote desktop connection
If you have installed the pre-release version of Remote Desktop Client 6. 1 (KB 937468) and then installed Windows XP SP3, the desktop will continue to display the text "For testing only. Build2600.xp _ SP2 _ GDR ... "(for testing only. Build 2600.xp_sp2_gdr…), at this time, you will not be able to uninstall KB 937468 using Add/Remove Programs.
To avoid this problem, please uninstall KB 937468 before installing Windows XP SP3.
If you encounter this problem, please follow the steps below to delete the test certificate related to the displayed text message.
Delete test certificate
Click start, click run, type certmgr.msc, and then press Enter.
In the displayed list, locate and expand the trusted root certification authorities folder.
In the Trusted Root Certification Authorities folder, locate and expand the Certificates folder.
In the right pane, locate and delete all entries named "Microsoft Test Root Certification Authority".
Restart the computer.

When installing a Service Pack, if you change the regional and language options from the original settings to other settings, some regional-specific aspects of Visual Basic Scripting Edition (VBScript) (such as DateValue () function) and Jscript (such as toLocaleString method) will not be used correctly. For example, such a script will display date, currency, number and time data in the wrong format.

Windows XP Media Center Edition
This problem affects Windows XP Media Center Edition 2002.
If Windows XP SP3 is installed on a computer running Windows XP Media Center Edition 2002 (with SP 1), Windows XP Media Center Edition may malfunction.
To avoid this problem, please install Windows XP SP2 before installing Windows XP SP3.
If this problem occurs, please uninstall Windows XP SP3, install Windows XP SP2, and then reinstall Windows XP SP3.
