Traditional Chinese medicine for hepatitis B: rhubarb

Roots and stems of Polygonaceae herbs, rhubarb or medicinal rhubarb.

Alias General Chuan Junjin

Efficacy: clearing liver, benefiting gallbladder, eliminating stagnation, promoting blood circulation and removing blood stasis.

(1) Jaundice in patients with hepatitis B belongs to damp-heat in liver and gallbladder (heat is heavier than dampness). The whole body is yellow with bright yellow, short red urine, red tongue and yellow fur.

(2) Patients with hepatitis B feel abdominal distension, pain and discomfort, constipation or loose stools, diarrhea two or three times a day, accompanied by bad breath, bitter taste, nausea and vomiting, red tongue with yellow fur, and thready pulse with gastrointestinal stagnation.

(3) Hepatitis B complicated with cirrhosis is characterized by dull pain in the right rib, local pain, red and dark tongue, and the pulse string belongs to liver meridian stagnation.
