The patent fee shall be paid by the patentee according to the payment standard. When applying for a patent and going through other formalities, you need to pay the application fee, application surcharge, publication and printing fee, priority claim fee, substantive examination fee and reexamination fee for an application for a patent for invention. And from the year when the patent right is granted, an annual fee will be paid.

Article 43 of the Patent Law of People's Republic of China (PRC), the patentee shall pay the annual fee from the year when the patent right is granted.
