China’s first laser printer with independent core technology was launched in Beijing on December 6, 2010. The nearly 30-year technological monopoly of Japanese and American printing giants has come to an end, and for the first time, a truly domestic printer has appeared on the desks of Chinese people. This printer named "Pantu" was developed by Zhuhai Senna Technology Co., Ltd. over a period of 4 years. Its core components such as central processor, image processing software, precision optical parts and precision chemical accessories are all independently developed. The performance reaches the international advanced level, but the cost of use is 30% lower than similar printers.
Ye Zicheng, director of the China Strategic Research Center at Peking University, believes that the advent of "Pantum" has opened a new era of development of China's printer industry and provided a strong guarantee for the security of China's printing information. It is of symbolic significance in China's transformation from a "manufacturing power" to a "manufacturing power".
Before the birth of "Pantum", the global printer market had been monopolized by Japan, the United States, and South Korea. In 2009, the total sales of printers in China exceeded 10 million units, but all of them were produced by HP, Canon, Samsung, etc. What blocks the Chinese people is the "iron wall" built by multinational giants with patents and business models. Japanese and American manufacturers have more than 200,000 patents on printers and consumables, and use the patent "protective umbrella" to implement a special business model of "selling machines at low prices and selling consumables at high prices", which basically eliminates the possibility of latecomers entering the printer field. In 2006, as China's largest general consumables manufacturing company, Senna was determined to independently develop laser printing and "blaze a trail" for the national industry. Company CEO Wang Dongying recalled: "At that time, some foreign colleagues were sarcastic and did not believe that we could succeed."
Withstanding the pressure, Senna started to break through with patents. More than 50 patent "researchers" searched and analyzed more than 180,000 relevant patents one by one, and built the industry's largest patent technology platform with more than 200 self-owned patents and more than 20,000 patent authorizations, breaking through patent barriers.
In order to speed up research and development, in addition to its Zhuhai headquarters, Senna has also established R&D institutions in Japan, the United States, Shanghai, and Beijing to advance simultaneously with an international R&D system; no expense is spared, and R&D investment in each core component is It exceeds 10 million yuan, and the core system integrated chip is as high as 150 million yuan.
It took the established manufacturers more than 10 years to complete the research and development road, but Senna only took 4 years: at the end of 2008, Senna made a breakthrough in the key technology of laser printer; in October 2009, the first prototype was successfully developed; One year later, "Pantu" was born after eight technical improvements and put into mass production. Senna has also become the only general consumables company in the world that can independently develop printers.
The construction of the Senna Printer Industrial Park with a total investment of 2.5 billion yuan has begun in Zhuhai, and the annual output value is expected to exceed 10 billion yuan in five years. "'Pantum' is just the beginning. In the future, Seina will also launch a full range of multi-function, high-speed, color and other laser printers." Wang Dongying said: "Seina people are determined and confident to stand up the national printing consumables industry through independent innovation. Backbone!" Talent standards have no boundaries, and talent needs have no limits. Excellent employees are the fundamental driving force for enterprise development;
What glitters is gold, and talents need to be discovered and even more cultivated.
