It can be reduced, but it cannot be exempted. There are certain conditions for applying for official fee reduction. If you meet the conditions, you can apply. The details are as follows:
Effective September 1, 2016, the latest "Patent Fee Mitigation Measures" will be officially implemented. It clearly stipulates the main contents such as the scope of preferential treatment, preferential objects, preferential strength, preferential procedures and other main contents.
1. Requirements for registration entities
1) Individuals whose average monthly income in the previous year was less than 3,500 yuan (42,000 yuan per year),
2) Enterprises whose taxable income in the previous year was less than 300,000 yuan,
3) public institutions, social groups, and non-profit scientific research institutions.
2. Specific fee reduction methods
1) If the applicant or patentee is an individual or an entity, 85% of the fees payable will be reduced.
2) If two or more individuals or units are the same patent applicants or patent holders, 70% of the fees payable shall be reduced.
Note: If two or more individuals or units are *** the same patent applicant or *** patentee, they must meet the registration subject requirements (ie: the corporate income tax is less than 30W ;Personal annual income is less than 4.2W)
