In this article, I want to review my mental journey in TMC, and also hope to help some friends think in another dimension: what is the meaning and value of real TMC? Where is leadership reflected? How to combine TMC with personal professional needs and ability improvement?
The first time I came into contact with TMC was when I was in the third year of high school. At that time, I was doing my own learning organization-Smart Weekend. Being one of the guests, the host and the speaker is very tiring. Why do you want to be a learning organization as a medical student? Because a lot of tacit knowledge and experience are not recorded in books, face-to-face communication can only provide the possibility of interaction and in-depth communication through the discussion and excavation of actual projects and cases. The essence of education is to let us have a new way of thinking. When we are faced with choices, we can make a more comprehensive evaluation from a more diverse perspective.
1 1 In April, by chance, I attended a regular meeting of the club of Suzhou South Campus of Sun Yat-sen University. At that time, I felt very shocked. A group of people were enthusiastic every week and strictly controlled their time according to the schedule. When I learned that TMC is a non-profit educational institution with a history of 80+ years and has a global club of 10000+, I was more interested in the structure behind it-this organization must not be through individuals, but through systems, so as to carry out standardized replication. So at that time, I joined not to improve my public speaking ability, but to set up a lifelong learning community. Two months after joining the club, I imitated the structure of TMC regular meeting and planned a planning book, a division of labor table, a data table and an agenda table. That smart weekend workshop was particularly successful, and it also established confidence and best practice for my career transformation as a trainer after many years.
In the early days, by playing different roles in the activities of the community, you can gradually experience a better speaker, which requires various skills. And all these skills are learned by different roles before the project meeting, implemented in the meeting, and get feedback from comments after the meeting, so as to realize spiral promotion in the experience. At that time, there was no tutorial system for the clubs in the South Campus. I slowly explored it through self-study manuals and when I went to other clubs to communicate with some seniors. Less than three months after joining the club, the club officials at that time were about to graduate or practice. During the transition period, Ms. Qin told me: "You want to be a member of your own community, TMC has what you want, and the education system is the content of the study." I was a little hesitant at that time, because the tasks of clinical and scientific research were not easy, but considering that it might take less than 1 day a week and there were dimensions other than medicine, it would be a good thing to experience it as an MBA program. After the transition, I served as the VPE of the South Campus Community for two times. Moreover, as an official, he should set an example. In order to realize the excellent club plan of DCP, he should shoulder the task of completing CC and CL within half a year. The tutorial system was implemented two months after I became VPE. My requirements for all my tutored students are: study every project in detail, whether it is project C or project L, get feedback from every predecessor on the spot, and be an official during the TMC membership, because officials can understand L from the operational point of view. All my students have taken the top four P in different clubs at different stages, and the improvement of their abilities has accumulated valuable wealth for their subsequent career development.
In that year1October, 1 1, that is, 6-7 months after I joined the club, the North Campus, formerly Sun Yat-sen University of Medical Sciences, held the second postgraduate teaching competition. With the help of my club partners, I carefully prepared for the rehearsal and won the first prize. Because after half a year's evaluation in different clubs, I still know why the second place is the second place, so part of my career track is academic speech coach. Coincidentally, the evening after the game was a regular meeting of the South Campus, and I invited friends from the third to the sixth place to visit. This group of partners take the subway to the south campus every Sunday night and go back and forth for an hour and a half. On the way, they discussed role preparation, and on the way back, they discussed project feedback and the improvement of meeting quality. When we have 1 1 friends in the north campus, and the succession officials in the south campus have been excavated and trained, Zhang Qin and I decided to set up a club in the north campus, which is one of our guarantee clubs-SYUMED Zhongshan International Speech Club. At that time, the lady in the building was a protege, and Ms. Shi was my protege. They were all the top six seed players in the contest. We collected all the best practices of every club in Guangzhou and brought them to the new club. This may also be the reason why Jinjiang MED can get on the right track quickly, because we inherited it from SYSU MED.
Lan Shu Jinjiang Cooperation Project, English Corner, PPT Competition, the scientific research salon we held earlier, and careful friends are sure to see the shadow of our TMC meeting. I understand the communication and leadership in TMC in this way: not only can we clearly communicate each other's demands and reach a * * * knowledge, but we can also realize the * * * knowledge at the lowest cost by organizing and planning the division of resources. From aging to achievement. Just as at yesterday's regular meeting, Nicole once said that her dream was to be an anchor, Mr. Mark Moming said that she needed to learn professional English, and Ms. Bella Wang Chen had experience in online podcasting. Why not combine the demand and resources, move the English corner to the Internet and set up our own Leaf English in Jinjiang, Lan Shu? We have a wader who is very good at collecting information, Albert Huang Hongyuan who has critical thinking and patent application experience, and Andy Zheng Yongqiang who has rich experience in writing SCI papers. Why should we develop more diversified scientific research salons, open up each other's scientific research processes and open up scientific research topics in different sub-fields?
Communication is more reflected in regular meetings, and the organization and implementation of activities outside regular meetings is an opportunity to further exercise and enhance leadership. This is my understanding of leadership, not one person, but a group of people to achieve the same goal and enhance our influence. Whether it's the parent-child activities to be done next week, or the further deepening of the "elite doctor training program" consisting of online English corner, academic speaking ability, research salon and clinical guidance, we need a group of friends who really understand C and L in TMC, * * * to make the impossible come true. For career development, we learn hard skills such as clinical research and soft skills such as language communication planning; For family life, we can better set an example, achieve the balance of family work, and effectively communicate positive feedback in intimate relationships; For personal interests and specialties, we should integrate more resources in the form of community and bring people with the same beliefs together for common progress.
This is why I want to introduce TMC as a project incubator as the core component of IMSC International Medical Service Club. The value behind TMC is not simply to let members learn how to speak in public, but to temper a way of thinking on how to turn knowledge into reality. I hope that each of us will take internationalization as an opportunity and take the club as a platform to improve ourselves in the practice of activities inside and outside the regular meeting and help each other realize their dreams together. At the 10 regular meeting, we saw many changes in membership. But the real application of TMC skills in work and life goes beyond the club itself. Wu Qingxia, the head nurse, said after the meeting that she hoped the club could raise the mental outlook of the hospital to a new height. My idea is not that lofty. I hope every member can really grow up in the club and influence the people around him through his own positive changes, which is also in line with TMC's values: respect for differences, sincerity and truth-seeking, serving members and pursuing perfection.
