Calibrant: Reference material, whose value is the independent variable used in the calibration function.
The value of one or more of its properties is determined by a procedure that establishes traceability to an accurately reproduced unit of measurement representing that property value. Each determined property value is given a Uncertainty at a given confidence level. Usually includes primary calibrators and secondary calibrators.
Manufacturer working calibrator: The value is determined according to the measurement procedures selected by one or more manufacturers. Sometimes this calibrator is called a "manufacturer-controlled calibrator" (or "in-house calibrator"). It is necessary to demonstrate that the calibration material can be used interchangeably with the manufacturer's choice of measurement procedures and calibration procedures.
Manufacturer product calibration products: set according to the manufacturer's regular measurement procedures and used to calibrate the end-user's regular measurement procedures.
Measurement procedure: A set of operations, measuring instruments, reference materials, or measuring systems used to define, identify, preserve, or reproduce the component values ??of a unit or one or more reference materials.
Product calibrator: a calibration substance used in a manufacturer’s final product.
End-user routine measurement procedure: a measurement system provided by the manufacturer, calibrated with commercial calibrators from one or several manufacturers.
