The hospital was founded in 1949 by cell biology scientists studying in the United States. At the beginning of its establishment, the hospital received strong support from the Shandong Provincial Red Cross Society. At the end of the last century, interventional tumor surgery was in the ascendant. The hospital cooperated with Peking University First Hospital and Harvard Medical School to carry out interventional tumor surgery, which filled the gap in interventional tumor surgery in Shandong Province.
In 2000, the hospital moved to the junction of Shanda Road and Jingshi Road, and the hospital's hardware and medical standards were further improved. At that time, interventional surgery was a high-end medical technology. As the first medical institution in Shandong to possess this technology, the hospital brought together first-class experts at home and abroad and added a number of national-level medical achievements. The hospital's interventional surgery technology continues to lead the country. It has been interviewed and reported by many authoritative media such as Shandong TV, Qilu TV, Jinan TV, Qilu Evening News, Legal Daily, etc., and has been widely praised by the society.
In 2003, a major breakthrough was made in basic stem cell research and development, and the Jinan Cell Biology Research and Treatment Base was established, which was a milestone in the history of stem cells in China. The hospital has conducted in-depth cooperation with the Future Cell Research Institute of Seoul National University in South Korea to conduct research on neural stem cell transplantation. As of 2006, more than 6,000 patients from South Korea, Japan, and the United States have successfully received treatment.
In 2006, stem cell research and development technology was advancing rapidly. The hospital used its core patented technology to conduct technical cooperation and joint research and development with the Northern Academy of Military Sciences. The hospital's stem cell technology capabilities have reached the world's leading level, and its neural stem cell culture technology has made another breakthrough and obtained an international patent.
In 2007, the hospital received venture capital from the United States and successively established stem cell basic research and development laboratories in Jinan High-tech Development Zone, University of Pennsylvania, and Shenzhen Science and Technology Park to accelerate the pace of research and development of stem cell technology.
The hospital has been conducting stem cell research and development and treatment for nine years. During this period, tens of thousands of patients from five continents have gained health from here, and the hospital has also received widespread praise from all walks of life.
