1. Scientific research projects
The school’s scientific research projects continued to maintain a good momentum in 2012, with both the number of projects and the level of projects increasing. As of December 30, 2012, the Science and Technology Division had launched 693 new scientific research projects throughout the year (including 249 vertical projects, 298 horizontal projects, and 146 basic scientific research business fee-funded projects), with actual scientific research funding of nearly 360 million yuan. (including 242 million yuan for vertical projects and 117 million yuan for horizontal projects).
In 2012, the school applied for 311 projects of the National Natural Science Foundation of China, and 66 projects were funded, including 2 key projects, with a total funding of 44.37 million yuan. For the first time this year, the school received funding from the Art Subject Project of the National Social Science Fund. 14 projects of the school were funded by the 2012 Special Research Fund for Doctoral Subjects in Higher Education Institutions, including: 2 projects in priority development areas, 5 projects for doctoral tutors, and 7 projects for new teachers. Since the school officially launched basic scientific research business funds in 2010, more than 300 young teachers and more than 120 graduate students have received funding, with a total funding of 42.49 million yuan. The implementation of basic scientific research business fees has stimulated the scientific research enthusiasm of the school's young faculty, created a good scientific research atmosphere, promoted the growth of young faculty, and played an important role in improving the school's comprehensive scientific research strength and promoting the sustainable development of the school's scientific research. According to ISI data retrieval on December 6, 2012, the school published 322 SCI papers, an increase of 37 compared to 235 in the same period last year; 224 international SCI papers, an increase of 52 compared to 147 in the same period last year; and 92 ranked papers, an increase of 37 compared to 235 in the same period last year. Up to now, the school ranks first in the total number of SCI papers published by geological universities and scientific research institutions.
2. A breakthrough in the National Science and Technology Progress Award. According to the results published online by relevant departments, the school won 1 first prize and 1 second prize in the Land and Resources Science and Technology Award as the first completing unit, and 1 first prize and 1 second prize in the Land and Resources Science and Technology Award as a cooperative unit. 4. Distribute technology rewards in a timely manner.

5. Laboratory Construction
