This method needs to be carried out in sunny days. If you live on a cloudy day and the sun can't make the rear window hot, you can consider the following other methods.
Step 1: Cut two black garbage bags roughly into the shape of a window. Spray soapy water on the outside of the window, and then lay one of the black garbage bags. Smooth the plastic bag.
Step 2: Cover all surfaces near the car window with tarpaulins for protection, such as stereo, taillights and surfaces with cushions. Wear a mask before spraying ammonia. The smell of ammonia is harmful, and different people will have different reactions when exposed to the smell of ammonia.
Step 3: When the ammonia water is still wet, use another garbage bag or multilayer plastic wrap to trap the ammonia water inside and stick it on the window film. Let the window dry in the hot sun, the garbage bag will absorb hot air and help peel off the whole film.
Step 4: Start peeling the window film. Lift a corner of the film with a nail or blade and peel it off as completely as possible. Be careful not to damage the demisting pipeline. In the process of tearing the film, ammonia water should be sprayed to keep the film moist. If there is a film that can't be removed, you can scrape it off with a blade.
Step 5: Use ammonia water and superfine steel wool to remove the residual adhesive, and wipe the glass window with a paper towel before the ammonia water dries completely. Take out the garbage bag outside, and then clean the window thoroughly with glass cleaner.
skill
When removing the film near the defogging line, pull up the film with adhesive tape instead of scraping it with a blade. If there is sticky residue, it can be wiped clean with ammonia or Windex cleaner and an old towel.
When scraping the film with a blade, the blade may become dull. You may need to scrape it clean with several blades.
You can also heat the film with a heating lamp or a floodlight (such as a 500-watt studio lamp). Put the lamp 30 to 45 cm away from the window. When heating the film with a lamp, spray ammonia water to keep the film moist and cover it with a plastic film. Heat for 30 to 45 minutes to peel off the film as completely as possible. Residual glue can usually be scraped off with a non-carbon steel blade, and warm soapy water is sprayed to keep it moist when scraping.
