Legal analysis: 1. International exhibitions hosted by the government of China include those hosted by the State Council, ministries and commissions, or organized by other institutions or local governments with the approval of the State Council. International exhibitions recognized by China government include those held abroad recognized by the State Council and its ministries. The so-called international exhibition means that besides the products of the host country, there should also be foreign exhibits. 2. The specified academic conference or technical conference refers to the academic conference or technical conference organized by the relevant competent departments or national academic groups in the State Council, excluding those below the provincial level or entrusted by or organized in the name of the State Council ministries or national academic groups. The openness of the meetings mentioned by the latter leads to the loss of novelty unless there is a confidentiality agreement in these meetings. 3. Disclosure caused by others revealing their contents without the consent of the applicant, including disclosure of their inventions and creations by others without complying with express or implied confidentiality agreements, and disclosure caused by others learning about inventions and creations from inventors or applicants by threats, fraud or espionage.

Legal basis: Article 24 of the Patent Law of People's Republic of China (PRC). An invention-creation for which a patent is applied shall not lose its novelty if it is under any of the following circumstances within six months before the date of filing: (1) it was first made public for the purpose of public interest in a national emergency or extraordinary circumstances; (2) It was exhibited for the first time at an international exhibition sponsored or recognized by the China Municipal Government; (3) It was first published at a specific academic conference or technical conference; (4) Others disclose the contents of the application without the consent of the applicant.
