Niu Electric launches self-driving electric motorcycle to support 5G communication

Las Vegas time on January 7th, Maverick Electric released the world’s first self-driving three-wheel electric motorcycle TQi and Maverick Electric’s first straddle electric motorcycle RQi at CES 2020 , both cars support 5G communication. At the same time, Maverick Electric has proposed a new thinking on urban travel solutions in the next ten years. By building the "autonomous electric motorcycle IoT FLEET" model, it has laid the foundation for Maverick Electric's "personal self-driving urban travel solution". The self-driving three-wheel electric motorcycle TQi will be officially launched in the second half of 2020.

TQi is Maverick Electric’s first self-driving three-wheeled electric motorcycle. Its appearance adopts a interspersed semi-enclosed body and a one-piece roof design, bringing an upgraded experience for all-weather urban travel, continuing and enriching the NIU's design language. TQi uses vehicle distance radar and ADAS to control vehicle braking and steering, ACC adaptive cruise, and is equipped with a pre-collision system and an automatic parking system. Through 360-degree monitoring through cameras, sensors, radars, etc., TQi can achieve an L2 level autonomous driving experience. Li Yan, CEO of Maverick Electric, said, "Obviously it has not been realized today, but Maverick Electric is ready."

At the same time, TQi is also equipped with a dual front wheel self-balancing system and uses a new balance controller. It senses the inclination of the car body in real time and controls the expansion and contraction of the front wheel balance bar, actively preventing tipping and returning to the right position, keeping the car body level and providing smooth driving control every time. In addition, TQi is also equipped with multi-state driving assistance systems such as SRS airbags, ABS anti-lock braking system, and TC traction control.

It is understood that the TQi driven by dual electric vehicles has a top speed of 80km/h, a cruising range of 200km, and supports smart chargers and smart charging piles. Hu Yilin, founder and vice president of R&D of Maverick Electric, said, "TQi will be officially launched in the second half of 2020, and the era of autonomous driving for personal travel is just around the corner."

With the help of emerging technologies such as big data and cloud computing, , Niu Electric has built NIU IoT through vehicle intelligence, cloud data integration, and mobile service innovation to better realize the interconnection of people and vehicles. Currently, NIU IoT can sense vehicle information in real time through smart sensors, and aggregate cloud computing and analysis to achieve real-time interconnection of people, vehicles, and the cloud. 150 TB of user riding data is deeply integrated and analyzed using NIU INSPIRE technology. Users only need one APP to view and manage vehicles. For Niu Electric, it can intelligently predict future travel needs and realize feedback on product research and development. Coupled with the arrival of the 5G era, NIU IoT will have greater room for innovation.

As a provider of smart city travel solutions, Niu Electric has also built a transportation network platform NIU FLEET. NIU?FLEET can realize cross-regional management of vehicles and battery groups, and has the characteristics of customization, refinement and high efficiency. All management can be achieved with only one web page, with data visualization, 7*24 hours management and control, and easy operation. It is easier to expand and is currently widely used in the overseas two-wheeled electric vehicle market.

In the future, NIU IoT, NIU FLEET and self-driving three-wheel electric motorcycle TQi will become the underlying support for Niu Electric to realize personal self-driving urban travel solutions.

At the press conference, Mavericks Electric also released the first 5G straddle electric motorcycle RQi. With a very track-like appearance, it has a top speed of 160km/h and a cruising range of 130km. . RQi has automotive-grade driving assistance systems, including ABS anti-lock braking system, CBS brake assist, and TC traction control, which expands user usage scenarios.

In addition, Mavericks Electric also exhibited the NQiGTs, MQiGT, UQiGT, NIU Aero EB-01 electric bicycles released at EICMA in Milan not long ago, and the NIU Aero launched in Beijing in April 2018. ? series, the product matrix of Niu Electric, is also a display of the results of focusing on urban travel for more than five years.
