How much do you know about the mobile phone operating system? Perhaps many people will blurt out Google's Android and Apple's iOS. Indeed, 99% of the smart phones in the market are nothing more than these two operating systems. It can be said that we can have so many smart phones to choose from now without their contributions.
But it's a pity that these two operating systems are not made in China. Domestic mobile phone brands seem to be flourishing and full of vigor, but all this is realized by standing on the shoulders of others. In fact, not only the operating system, but also the screen, chip, storage, flash memory and other core components of mobile phones belong to others. For domestic manufacturers, what they have completed is only the final assembly.
Perhaps it was a hunch that Huawei took the lead in the research and development of mobile phone core chips more than ten years ago, so the Hisilicon Kirin chip appeared. Self-research was originally an inspirational thing. However, Huawei was not encouraged to talk about it. It was also ridiculed by Liu Zuohu, the founder of Yijia: "Kirin Chip wants to catch up with Snapdragon in ten years." In the rapidly changing mobile phone market, ten years is a long time. Liu Zuohu basically asserts that Kirin will never be Snapdragon's opponent.
However, this didn't hurt Huawei's confidence, and Kirin Core finally grew up gradually through stumbling. From Kirin 91 to the upcoming Kirin 9, Hisilicon has achieved a perfect counterattack from an absolute disadvantage. Today's Kirin chip is not inferior to the competitor Xiao Longxin in the overall use level, and Huawei has proved its strength to the world step by step.
Perhaps Huawei is too dazzling, and the United States can't sit still at this time. It has been suppressed by the power of the state one after another, from parts to chips to operating systems. Every time it is stuck in Huawei's lifeline, a little carelessness is the end of ashes. Shopping malls like battlefields are never a joke.
as early as last year, Google, which could not start with Android, first restricted the installation of GMS (GoogleMobile Service) on Huawei's mobile phones, which almost directly stopped Huawei's overseas business. Many friends may not know the importance of GMS, because we use the system of magic change, a major mobile phone manufacturer in China, so we basically don't need Google mobile service, but if you want to download some foreign software, you need a Google account, but at this time you will find that Huawei mobile phones can't be used. In the same way, for Huawei users abroad, the inability to use GMS Huawei mobile phone is about the same as a brick, so naturally there is no desire to buy it.
As a result, it almost lost the entire overseas market. Of course, Huawei won't sit still and wait. It quickly launched HMS (Huawei Mobile Service) to counter Google's GMS. Once launched, HMS obtained a huge download volume of 4.1 billion, which temporarily eased the crisis of losing GMS support.
Not only that, but in the face of Google's March, Huawei released a long-hidden big move-HarmonyOS OS operating system, in order to confront Google head-on.
At the Huawei Developers Conference on August 9, 1919, HarmonyOS version 1. was born. Like Android, it was born out of the Linux kernel but different. It is a brand-new domestic operating system. If it succeeds, it means that China will also have its own operating system. At the same time, Huawei will have the same foundation as Apple and its own chip and operating system. If so, Huawei will be stronger, because Apple does not have a patent for 5G communication, and it does not.
But even so, the release of HarmonyOS OS ended up like the Kirin chip, and few people believed it, because it was too difficult. Different from chips, the difficulty of the system lies in how to make developers and users recognize and be willing to use it. After more than ten years of development, Android system has long been deeply rooted in mobile phone shopping malls, and its dominance is very strong. How can HarmonyOS, as a newly born "child", compete with Android and get a share? So no one believes that Huawei can succeed again.
Huawei's next move seems to verify everyone's ideas. One year after the HarmonyOS OS was launched, there was no sign of mobile devices such as mobile phones except once on the unimportant Huawei smart screen, which further confirmed people's guess.
but will Huawei give up so easily? At this year's Huawei Developers Conference, Huawei released version 2. of HarmonyOS again, announcing that it would launch a charge against mobile devices such as mobile phones.
Huawei Yu Chengdong directly stated at the conference that the HarmonyOS OS system will be fully adapted to Huawei mobile phones by the end of 221 at the latest, which means that HarmonyOS mobile phones have really come.
The same is true. As of October this year, Huawei's mobile phone adaptation to HarmonyOS system has entered the final countdown. It is understood that the system upgrade will be carried out in five batches:
From the list, it can be seen that the adaptation of HarmonyOS system basically covers all models that Huawei has produced in three years, and there is no favoritism. Although there are still some models equipped with Kirin 97/96 that can't be adapted, it won't take long to support them according to the life of smart phones, so it is understandable to spend effort on new products.
in the end, if Huawei starts to push the HarmonyOS OS system, will you upgrade it as soon as possible? Say your opinion!
