A stone stirs up a thousand waves, and "Forty-six Articles" has become a frightening term in the music circle. The website of the National Copyright Administration issued an announcement on March 3rd1,and began to solicit public opinions on the Copyright Law of People's Republic of China (PRC) (Revised Draft). In this revised draft, Article 46 is worth noting: "Three months after the first publication of a sound recording, other producers of sound recordings may use their musical works to make sound recordings without the permission of the copyright owner in accordance with the conditions stipulated in Article 48 of this Law."
Someone summed up Article 46 like this: "The rising sun can finish singing Wang Feng's songs in three months, leaving Wang Feng with no songs to sing." As we all know, the copyright protection of domestic music has been very poor, and musicians are worried that if the revised draft of this new law is passed, there will be no more creators in China.
