Yes! Endless sea, smoky lakes, rushing rivers, magnificent glaciers, flowing springs ... It is these various kinds of water that make our human home particularly beautiful and bring great vitality to the earth. Can you imagine what the earth would be like without water? It will turn yellow and die. Without water, there would be no plants, animals and humans. Water breeds life and human civilization on the earth, and people's life and industrial and agricultural production are inseparable from water. Water is the source of life and the lifeblood of economy!
People regard water as a free gift from nature, make full use of it and enjoy it. But after entering the middle of the 20th century, water began to become scarce and irreplaceable! More and more cities are crying for water! 1977 The United Nations Water Conference warned that water will soon become a profound social crisis, and the next crisis after the oil crisis will be water. The crisis of water resources is becoming one of the most important and urgent environmental problems facing mankind at present.
I remember seeing such a movie before: In a mountainous area in China, which is very short of water, water must be taken from dozens of miles away. When it rains, everyone will take out all the containers at home to hold rainwater, and we are still wasting and destroying water resources. Isn't that a crime? I once did an experiment. If you wash your hands normally, you only need about 0.5 kg of water, but if you waste water, you need about 2.5 kg of water, which is about five times that of normal hand washing!
Facing the challenge of water, we must clearly realize that water resources are limited, and nothing in the world can replace water! Historically, many places have turned oases into deserts and cities into ruins due to the exhaustion of water sources. For example, the ruins of Loulan ancient city in Taklimakan desert and Wantong city in Mu Us desert are witnesses. One was once a bustling shopping mall on the ancient Silk Road, and the other was the capital of Xia State. Because there is no water, it is now submerged in quicksand. If there is no water in one place, people can move to other places, but if all the clean water on the earth becomes dirty and dried up, where should people move?
Now, we must face the fact that, especially in our country, which is one of the water-poor countries in the world, the per capita water resources are scarce, and the serious pollution makes the water resources we depend on deteriorate! However, more water makes people waste and destroy it. I once read an amazing message: China uses twice as much water as the United States to produce the same amount of food; China's water consumption per 10,000 yuan output value is more than double that of developed countries!
I am convinced that as long as we cherish and care for water resources. Who should be in charge? No abuse, no waste, no pollution of water quality, good deployment and use, plus some technology, constantly open up water sources, our future generations will never have to worry about water shortage, and the world will definitely have a better tomorrow!
Unfortunate China Fish (Beijing, Gu Qingsheng)
The misfortune of fish seems more sympathetic. In recent years, the fish in Baiyangdian Lake, Dadu River and Pearl River have been sacrificed collectively and heroically because of toxic water. Of course, the situation of dead fish is not uncommon, but the concentration and scale of fish deaths are really worrying. After all, fish have no wings and legs. They live in water and can't escape the persecution of poisonous water.
The misfortune of fish has existed for many years, mainly fish living in relatively small water systems. Living space is relatively narrow, and toxic water can easily hurt them. Nowadays, fish in big rivers are doomed, because there are more and more poisonous water. More and more poisonous water makes fish have nowhere to escape, and these creatures who live on water have been buried in the sky.
Is the fish angry? Maybe they used to jump, struggle, stir up angry waves, jump out of the water to breathe air and commit suicide. But obviously to no avail, their homes have been washed away by toxic water, leaving no one, old or young. What happened to the world? The language of fish can't be conveyed to human beings, and we can't decipher the language of fish so far. I think they watched their companions leave the fish world in despair until the last fish stopped breathing.
It's terrible. The water of death continues to flow, and people are dying wherever they pass. We should be thankful that we have two legs, as well as cars, trains, ships and planes. We have the means of transportation to escape the disaster.
Yes, when all the water on the earth becomes toxic, we will leave the earth and go to the moon. But is there water on the moon?
Maybe there will be, because our ancestors said, God never shuts one door but he opens another. Ancestors didn't say there was always a way to fish. Therefore, we should be glad that we are human in this life, not fish. We should not be afraid of poisonous water, including poisonous gas, sandstorm, drought, flood and debris flow. Unfortunately, fish, fish have no thoughts, will not create, and will only go extinct. Poor fish. These animals that haven't evolved don't know that humans also evolved from water. They are thoughtful and creative. If a fish doesn't make progress, it's finished. If fish can learn a lesson and use their last days to evolve into amphibians, mammals and humans at the fastest speed, we can drink at the same table. Speaking of the poisonous water incident, we can also shake our heads together and lament those animals who are not enterprising: how unfortunate! (Excerpted from China Youth, June 2000 1 1)
