What is the application procedure for German trademarks?

Trademark retrieval: the applicant retrieves the trademark name to ensure the registrability of the trademark;

Trademark acceptance: the applicant submits the trademark application documents to the German Patent Office, and the relevant staff will review the submitted trademark application documents and check the integrity of the trademark documents. Trademark review: Trademark registrants conduct formal review and substantive review of trademark documents, mainly to review whether the trademark documents are registrable, whether they are the same as or similar to the previously applied trademarks, and whether they comply with relevant laws and regulations. For trademarks that fail to pass the examination, the examiner will notify the applicant in writing and inform him of the reasons for rejection. Trademark announcement: the trademark that has passed the examination enters the trademark announcement period, which lasts for 3 months, and the trademark objection period begins from the announcement period. During the objection period, anyone can raise an objection to the trademark document.

Completion of trademark registration: the trademark documents that have been ruled against or have no objection within the objection period may be approved for registration. The validity period of the trademark is 10 year. After the trademark expires, it can be renewed. The trademark renewal period is 10 year. The application for trademark renewal shall be filed within 3 months before the expiration of the trademark.
