Nanchang Institute of Technology is an undergraduate university with a harmonious development of management, science, agriculture, literature, economics, art and other disciplines and distinctive water conservancy characteristics. Formerly known as Jiangxi Institute of Water Conservancy and Electric Power, which was founded in 1958, it resumed its operation in 1978. It was renamed Nanchang Institute of Technology in 24 after going through the stages of Jiangxi Institute of Water Conservancy and Electric Power, Jiangxi Institute of Technology, Jiangxi College of Water Conservancy, Nanchang College of Water Conservancy and Electric Power, and Nanchang College of Water Conservancy and Electric Power.
