Won the honors of National Advanced Workers in the Health System, National Outstanding Scientific and Technological Workers, Young and Middle-aged Experts with Outstanding Contributions from the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security, Shanghai Noble Medical Ethics Award, Shanghai Talent Award, etc. The first author and corresponding author published more than 220 papers, including more than 88 SCI papers, and edited or co-edited 36 monographs. He has presided over 36 national, provincial and ministerial level projects, including the National 863 Program, the National Health Industry Scientific Research Special Fund, and the National Natural Science Foundation of China’s major international cooperation projects. The first person to complete the project won 12 first prizes including the Shanghai Science and Technology Progress Award and the Ministry of Education Science and Technology Progress Award, and 8 national patents.
In October 2015, Fan Xianqun was elected as a Fellow of the Royal College of Ophthalmologists.
