Why not use pure steel rope for fire escape, but use core rope aircraft cable?

Fire escape rope, generally a steel wire rope in the middle, is wrapped with a layer of hemp rope or fiber rope in the outer layer, which has good feel and high friction, and can ensure safety when sliding down from a height. Hemp rope has a small breaking force and is afraid of fire, so a steel wire rope is added in the middle to improve the breaking force and prevent it from breaking.

Commonly used wire ropes are phosphating coated wire ropes, galvanized wire ropes and stainless steel wire ropes, which are used in atmospheric environment. The manganese phosphating coated steel wire rope produced by patented technology has the longest service life. At present, the fatigue test data show that the fatigue life of phosphating coated wire rope is about 3-4 times that of smooth wire rope with the same structure (under comparable conditions in the laboratory), which is the reason for the extremely long service life of wire rope, which has far exceeded that of imported wire rope. The unit cost of phosphating coated steel wire rope is only about 30% of that of smooth steel wire rope, and it is seriously corroded.
