Notes on trademark registration application
If a natural person, legal person or other organization needs to obtain the exclusive right to use a trademark for its goods or services in production and business activities, it shall apply to the Trademark Office for trademark registration. In a narrow sense, the application for trademark registration only refers to the application for trademark registration of goods and services, the application for international trademark registration, the application for certification trademark registration, the application for collective trademark registration and the application for special symbol registration. The application for trademark registration in a broad sense includes not only the contents of the application for trademark registration in a narrow sense, but also the application for alteration, renewal, transfer registration, objection application, cancellation application, trademark license filing and other trademark registration matters.
There are two ways for domestic trademark registration applicants to apply for trademark registration: one is to apply for trademark registration by themselves, that is, the applicant directly applies for trademark registration; The second is to entrust a legally established trademark agency to handle it. The main difference between the two methods is the contact information and the way to submit books and documents. In terms of contact information, if you go directly to the Trademark Office, the applicant will contact the Trademark Office directly during the handling process; Where a trademark agency is entrusted, the applicant shall contact the Trademark Office through the trademark agency, but not directly. As for the documents submitted, if they are handled directly in the Trademark Office, in addition to other documents that should be submitted, the applicant should also submit a copy of the agent's identity card; Where a trademark agency is entrusted, the applicant shall, in addition to other documents, submit a power of attorney to entrust a trademark agency to handle trademark registration affairs. In the way of submitting documents, if the applicant handles it by himself, the applicant or agent shall submit the application documents directly to the acceptance window of the trademark registration hall; The agency can submit the application documents to the Trademark Office directly, by mail or through express delivery companies, and can also submit the application for trademark registration through the online application system.
If a foreigner or foreign enterprise applies for trademark registration and handles other trademark matters in China, it shall entrust a legally established trademark agency to handle it. However, foreigners or foreign enterprises who have their habitual residence or business office in China can handle it by themselves.
Legal basis: Article 18 of the Patent Law of People's Republic of China (PRC).

Patent agencies shall abide by laws and administrative regulations, accept the entrustment of clients, and handle patent applications or other patent affairs; The contents of the client's invention and creation shall be kept confidential, except that the patent application has been published or announced.
