Although domestic manufacturers BOE and TCL are catching up, there is still a little gap with Samsung and LG in technology accumulation, which is why Apple has been using Samsung and LG's organic light-emitting diode screens, and now it has begun to adopt BOE's screen.
Samsung and LG are more advanced in OLED screens, on the one hand, because Korean manufacturers started early, and on the other hand, Korean manufacturers have monopolized some technologies, products and patents, such as Samsung's "Diamond" arranger patent, which BOE can't use, so it can only arrange music with "Zhou Dongyu", which is also something that everyone has complained about.
Recently, however, it was reported that BOE applied for another new patent, named "honeycomb arrangement" screen pixel ranking technology patent.
This "honeycomb arrangement" technology is that each pixel unit consists of a blue sub-pixel, a red sub-pixel and two green sub-pixels, forming a honeycomb structure and realizing lossless RGB arrangement.
Samsung's diamond ranking, at the same resolution as the "honeycomb" arrangement, can only reach 80% pixels per inch with RGB arrangement, which means that BOE's organic light-emitting diode screen with "honeycomb" arrangement is better than Samsung's diamond ranking in display effect.
It's not just the pixel arrangement. According to the statement, BOE also uses Huawei Hisilicon's driver chip, specifically named HW &;; BOE AMOLED driver chip, that is, the chip that Huawei cooperates with BOE.
There are various versions of this chip, corresponding to different screens. At present, BOE's organic light-emitting diode screen has been put into production, and it will be mass-produced next. There will be 8K, 4K and 2K screens and different refresh rates.
Next, let's take a look at the specific evaluation of BOE's "honeycomb" technology of organic light-emitting diode screens. If it is really better than Samsung's diamond ranking, then domestic screens really need to overtake in corners, surpassing Samsung, LG and other manufacturers.
We must know that domestic smartphones have accounted for 50%+ of the global share. If BOE's OLED screen is better than Samsung's, there is no reason not to use it. As long as domestic mobile phones support it, it is really simple for BOE to become the world's number one OLED screen.
