First of all, cold eyes can give you a clear answer. This is true and there is no deception. The names of these five undergraduates from Chinese Academy of Sciences are Wang Huaqiang, Wang, Zhang Linjuan and Zhang Zifei. The chip they developed is called? Nutshell? This is a 64-bit RISC-V processor SoC chip, which can successfully run Linux operating system. Of course, the design and development of this chip is mainly to help our domestic technology enterprises, such as Huawei. After all, if we in China design our own chips, then our technology enterprises in China can do better, which is of great significance to our science and technology in China. After four months of hard work, the undergraduates of these five national science and technology universities succeeded! They really made a 1 China chip, and achieved a breakthrough from 0 to 1. They successfully achieved the previously unimaginable goal of designing their own processor chips. There is no denying that these five China undergraduates are very powerful!
But objectively speaking, the performance of the China chip made by these five China undergraduates in four months still has great limitations. Because it is reported that the highest working frequency of this chip is 350MHz, and the CoreMark test score is 1.49/MHz, this data means that the chips made by undergraduates in these five countries in four months should be regarded as teaching chips, not product chips. Because there is still a gap compared with commercial processors. More realistically, it is not difficult for chip designers to design such chips. But I thought about it coldly. It's amazing that students can design such a chip in just four months! Because the gap can never be filled at once! Students must come on!
