Where is China Science and Education City?

Science and Education City (Science and Education Base), that is, the state’s judgment of a group of science, education and research-oriented cities, is based on the strength of government research, corporate research, and university research in this region. Now it generally refers to the four major science and education cities in China.

In 1999, Beijing, together with Xi'an, Hefei and Chengdu, was identified as the country's four major science and education bases.

1. Beijing: As the capital of China, there are scientific research institutions such as the Chinese Academy of Sciences and Beijing’s Zhongguancun Science and Technology Park, known as China’s Silicon Valley. The achievements that receive national awards every year account for one-third of the country’s results.

Since 1998, Beijing High-tech Industry International Week, a large-scale international event with the theme of high-tech industry, has been held every year. Beijing is also the region with the most developed education in the country, led by Peking University and Tsinghua University. Many scientific research results are produced here every year. It is the largest scientific and technological research base in the country.

2. Xi’an: Xi’an’s colleges and universities are not very famous. What is important is its powerful national defense research institutes, the First Aviation Group, the Second Aviation Group, the Aerospace Science and Technology Group, and the Ordnance Industry Group. The research institute in Xi'an accounts for nearly half of the country's aerospace science and technology talents! Xi'an can be called the number one city for aerospace research in China.

3. Hefei: With three national laboratories and five major scientific installations, it is second only to Beijing as a key city in the layout of major national scientific projects and the only national science and technology innovation pilot city. In nano research , quantum communications, nuclear science and technology and other research fields have a high status in the world. One of the five major science and technology parks in APEC Asia, it is also a member city of the World Alliance of Science and Technology Cities.

4. Chengdu: Chengdu has strong scientific and technological strength and has become the city with the strongest comprehensive strength in the central and western regions of China and one of the four major science and education cities in the country. The city has more than 440,000 scientific and technological personnel, with 253 scientific and technological personnel per 1,000 employees, ranking among the best among major cities in the country. The city has 5 national key laboratories and 3 national engineering technology centers, more than 2,500 scientific research and technology development institutions, and more than 20 universities and colleges. It has strong comprehensive advantages and technical capabilities in high-tech fields such as electronics, biology, new technologies, new materials, optics, optical fiber communications, nuclear technology applications, and lasers.

Judging from the current results, the Chengdu Innovation Cluster has carried out substantive cooperation on 13 projects with the French government in the fields of biomedicine, electronic information, and environmental protection. Astra (Chengdu) Pharmaceutical Technology Co., Ltd., an enterprise in Chengdu High-tech Zone, was selected for the "Establishment of Tyrosine Kinase Inhibitor Screening Platform" project applied for, and received the opportunity to study and study in France funded by the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs. For Chengdu now, "soft power" has become a new benchmark term. This can be seen from the survey results of China's most soft power cities. Chengdu's various indicators are at the forefront. Taken together, it ranks first among all non-municipality cities in the country in terms of soft power.
