Huawei's mobile phone chip is so good, why not sell it to domestic mobile phones

For a mobile phone, the most important thing is the processor, especially in the eyes of many Chinese people, the grade of the processor determines the grade of the mobile phone, so many people buy a mobile phone, the first thing to pay attention to is the processor.

However, domestic processors are a weakness. At present, only Huawei Kirin has the strength to compete with Qualcomm, so everyone has been expecting Huawei Kirin to sell domestic mobile phones to avoid being stuck by Qualcomm.

Huawei, on the other hand, has repeatedly stressed that the Kirin processor is not for sale at present, and is only for its own use. Therefore, many people analyze that this is because Huawei has insufficient production capacity and insufficient technical strength, so it does not sell. In addition, in order to ensure its differentiation, Xiaomi may sell Kirin 970 as a thousand yuan machine, which is a big loss for Huawei.

Although these may be the reasons, I think patent authorization is the main reason why Huawei Kirin does not sell to the outside world.

We know that at present, almost all domestic mobile phones have to pay patent fees to Qualcomm, while Huawei pays less or even no fees through cross-licensing with Qualcomm.

Meizu has been using MediaTek's processors before, even Samsung's, not Qualcomm's. In order not to pay royalties to Qualcomm, this shows a truth, that is, it is necessary to pay royalties to use Qualcomm's processors. If you don't use Qualcomm's processor, you can cheat without paying.

Then the question is, if Huawei Kirin is used by domestic mobile phone manufacturers and Huawei Kirin is all-netcom, it must contain the necessary patents of CDMA and other standards. These patents are in Qualcomm's hands. Will the domestic mobile phone be handed in?

Once the patent fee is paid, the cost will increase greatly. After all, processors need money, patents also need money, and they can be used without paying patent fees. Maybe many manufacturers will learn from Meizu's previous practice and stop paying patent fees to Qualcomm, so the pressure may be passed on to Huawei, that is, Qualcomm may find trouble with Huawei, that is, overcharge Huawei Kirin, because Kirin uses Qualcomm's patents.

Huawei, on the other hand, doesn't have enough production capacity and wants to make some efforts to differentiate its own mobile phones, so it simply doesn't sell them, because selling processors doesn't necessarily make money, and it will also cause many unknown troubles.
