Among them, as the first award-winning unit, it has won: 1 second-class National Natural Science Award (research on astronomical telescope optics), 1 first-class National Science and Technology Progress Award (2.16-meter optical astronomical telescope), 2 second-class National Science and Technology Progress Awards, 8 National Science Conference Awards; as the second award-winning unit, it has won: 1 first prize of the National Science and Technology Progress Award, 1 second prize of the National Science and Technology Progress Award, and 25 various provincial awards.

Since 2001, as the first completed unit, it has won 2 second-class National Science and Technology Progress Awards and 2 first-class Jiangsu Province Science and Technology Progress Awards; it has been selected for the annual "Top Ten Astronomical Progress" awards for eight consecutive years. LAMOST, a major national scientific engineering project, was successfully completed and passed national acceptance.
