When can we program human genes?

As others have said, the compilation method has become more and more mature. But more importantly, how to choose the compiled object. Different from modern computer science, the construction of computer system is from bottom to top, from code to function. The understanding of biological system is top-down. First, we have our own creatures, and then we try to analyze the detailed relationship between genetic code and function. There are very complex signal transduction regulation in organisms, including various positive/negative feedback regulation and redundant pathways. At present, our methods of selecting these signal pathways are still based on traditional biochemical and molecular biological analysis methods, which are inefficient and have poor repeatability. It can be said that the biggest obstacle that restricts us to use and compile genomic information correctly and accurately today is still the methodology itself. It has developed rapidly, but it is far from enough. The development of biotechnology is still waiting for revolution.
