Do you need modeling to write a patent?

It is recommended to use CAD

The advantage of line drawing is that it has no rendering effect.

I don't know about 3Dmax software, but I know that ordinary 3D software will have an imaginary light source shining on the surface of an object, which will produce a high light spot. Patented appearance pictures or photos require avoiding high light as much as possible.

On the other hand, after 3D modeling, my brother's complete front view is not as good as expected, and the plane difference between objects with different observation angles is small or large, which leads to product distortion. So it's better to draw the lines clearly.
