The predecessor of Hebei University of Technology is Beiyang Technical School, which was founded in 1903. It is the earliest institution of higher learning in China to train industrial talents, and founded the earliest university-run factory in China. 1929 was renamed Hebei Institute of Technology, and 1995 was renamed Hebei University of Technology.
Scientific research and construction
The school has 54 national and provincial scientific research platforms, including State Key Laboratory, National Engineering Technology Research Center and National Local Joint Engineering Laboratory. Won the second prize of national natural science, the second prize of national scientific and technological progress, the achievement award of chemical science and technology, the outstanding contribution award of Hebei science and technology and many other provincial and ministerial awards. Approved the first batch of pilot universities for intellectual property rights in China, ranking 70th among the top universities in China.
The school has established more than 5,000 new projects and undertaken 48 national key major projects such as the 13th Five-Year Plan and the second phase of the National "02 Special Project". The first "high beam" successfully made its first flight on the Long March 8 and was in orbit. High-performance robot tactile sensing intelligent system was selected into the list of leading technologies of "Kechuang China" in 2020.
The school spends 300 million yuan on science and technology every year, and 100 many scientific research achievements have won national and provincial awards. It is the university with the largest number of outstanding contributions to science and technology in Hebei Province and one of the top ten outstanding invention and creation units in Hebei Province.
