What does 4RM mean?

4RM is a brand new Ferrari four-wheel drive system and a patented product of Ferrari. 4RM accurately predicts the maximum torque that each wheel can transfer to the road without slipping, and the system distributes maximum torque to each wheel independently. 4RM also integrates Ferrari F1-Trac, E-Diff, PTU and other control functions. The control system software can predict adhesion in advance. And traction and stability can be controlled by precisely distributing the appropriate amount of torque to each wheel. The 4RM system consists of two sets of gearboxes, with a total of 9 forward gears. The first two forward gears (the reverse gear is also placed in the front gearbox) are located on the front axle and are directly connected to the engine. A 7-speed dual-clutch main gearbox is located at the rear axle. For the most part, Ferraris remain standard rear-drive supercars. Only when the trip computer calculates that power needs to be output to the front axle, it will combine the clutch of the front gearbox to achieve speed wheel drive.
