The first country in the world to establish a patent system was Venice at that time. In 1474 Venice promulgated the world's first patent law. Although this patent law has some characteristics and elements of modern patent law, it is quite simple and rough, and has a strong flavor of feudal privileges, with very low protection effectiveness. The patent system with truly modern characteristics has been gradually formed, developed and improved since the 17th century with the continuous development of the capitalist economy and the firm establishment of the capitalist mode of production. In 1624, the United Kingdom promulgated the "Monopoly Act", which is known as the beginning of modern patent law. Its basic principles and certain specific provisions have been imitated and used for reference by many countries when formulating patent laws. After entering the 18th century, European and American countries successively promulgated patent laws. So far, there are more than 170 countries and regions that have implemented the patent system in the world.
