How do designers write year-end summaries?

Every year near the end of the year, major companies will make a year-end summary or promotion report. I have worked for so many years, participated in many promotion interviews and experienced many pits. Many friends have asked me how to make a PPT to report my work.

After reading a lot of other people's design summaries and combining my previous work experience, I have compiled a set of frameworks for everyone. This framework may not be right, but I hope it can help everyone.

1. Who are you?

Who are you in the first part of your promotion or report? Because the person who came to your promotion interview today may not have known you before.

So the first step, you must introduce your personal information and work experience simply and clearly; Here is a little trick to share with you, that is, you can introduce yourself through numbers.

You can introduce yourself like this. Hello, my name is XXX. I am very happy to share my design project with you today. Before sharing, let me introduce myself with three figures. This year is the 10 year, and I have been engaged in UI design. I have worked on XX project in XX company before, and I have been in our company for almost five years. Last year, I was in charge of about 30 projects in the company.

The digital presentation will be very clear and impressive. You can try this little skill, whether it is the introduction of your own work or the project debriefing speech.

Second, the project results

1. Major projects and work achievements in the past year

After introducing yourself, you need to start introducing your project results. A common mistake made by many students here is to list the projects they usually do.

In fact, it is of little significance, because today's debriefing or promotion time is very limited; How to impress the interviewer in 10 minutes? Generally speaking, I suggest that you can briefly introduce what projects you have mainly done in the past year and what achievements you have achieved. These results are best measured by data.

For example, I am in charge of three activities this year. What is the UV and GMV of each event, much higher than last year's data; Or how many design patents I won this year, these are quantifiable results.

2. Focus on a project that you think is the most successful.

Because time is limited, it is impossible to talk about all your projects, so focus on a key project that best reflects your professional ability, and pay attention to the following aspects in the process of talking:

1) Value of the project to the company

Besides your ability to meet higher requirements, promotion is very important to your value to the company or department; So when you express the project, you must emphasize what you did today, what value you achieved for the business, whether it is very helpful to the efficiency of the team, and whether there is a precipitation method. Others can reuse this ability.

Let me give you a simple example: you made a project of 6 18 active channel, and you used the display effect of video banner at the head of this project. Compared with the previous 6 18, this effect is very good in both data display exposure and final transaction.

Help the business to make a breakthrough, and at the same time, you have also precipitated the shooting template and production method of video advertisements, helping the team to empower and improve design efficiency; Then this project is a way to help the company bring value success and improve team efficiency; When talking about the project, we must highlight that this matter is different because of you.

2) Challenges and difficulties faced by the project

After introducing the value of the project, you can introduce the difficulties and challenges of the project in detail. It must be that the harder and more challenging the project, you finally got it.

Here is an example. For example, you encountered great difficulties in establishing the design specifications of the whole project this year. The design is very difficult. There are thousands of pages, many of which are in disrepair. At the same time, the project involves many project teams, so we can't find the corresponding development resources and don't have enough time for you to design the project schedule.

So in the face of such a difficult project, it is difficult to schedule, resources and design. How do you do it? How did you push it? This is the focus of the judges, your ability to handle complex things.

Then you can say that in view of the difficulty in scheduling, you have set up a virtual design team, and each department has found a design docking person to help you land the page of this project; At the same time, do a good job in the project management of each page, and do a good job in the list of testers who develop products and the corresponding design docking people.

In view of the resource difficulties, you found the product owner and the development boss, found the value shared by everyone in the project, and then found the corresponding people to help you land; In a word, you must talk about your thinking of solving problems in this place, because your thinking determines your thinking of facing more difficult problems in the future.

3) Major decisions in the project

In this important project, how did you make a decision, and how did this decision affect the result? This is the designer's design judgment on key nodes.

Or take a project with standard design, and you find that in the process of doing it, the development and product are not well coordinated, and there is no resource to help you; Then you find the person in charge of the product and tell the person in charge of the product that standardizing this matter can enhance the experience, make the whole link smoother and bring about the improvement of data; At the same time, you also convince the person in charge of the product that designing specifications and developing components can greatly improve the efficiency of research and development. In the past, three people supported it, but in the future, you may only need 1 person.

A judgment like this can better reflect your judgment on the problem.

4) precipitation method or innovation

In this project, whether you have precipitated your design methods, or excavated some useful design tools, or whether you have unique innovations, all reflect your unique value.

If so, it is best to emphasize it here; For example, this design specification is different from others in that your specification directly encapsulates development into a code component, which can be directly called; Or on the platform, you assign the project to each specific designer; Or in the design specification update, your method ensures a better update effect, and so on.

5) Project resumption

At the end of the project introduction, you can introduce your shortcomings in doing so many projects in the last year, or your thoughts after some failed projects.

Actually, the key word here is introspection. Find out your own shortcomings. Do you know yourself well enough?
