Xi'an University of Posts and Telecommunications, referred to as Xiyou and Xi'an Posts and Telecommunications, is a university jointly established by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of the People's Republic of China and the Shaanxi Provincial Government, a high-level provincial university in Shaanxi Province, and a joint venture by the Ministry of Education "Excellent Engineer Education and Training Program" is implemented in colleges and universities.
The National College Student Innovation and Entrepreneurship Training Program, the Ministry of Education’s “New Engineering Research and Practice Project” was selected as a member unit of colleges and universities, Chang’an Alliance, CDIO Engineering Education Alliance, the Chinese People’s Liberation Army Reserve Officer Selection and Training Base, and the National One of the first universities to trial preparatory classes for children of border guards, and the only university in the northwest region to undertake training tasks for the Asia-Pacific Telecommunications Organization and ASEAN.

Xi'an University of Posts and Telecommunications takes the discipline of information science and technology as its main body, focuses on the development, research and industrial application of high-tech, and specializes in communication-specific integration. Research directions such as circuit design, mobile communications, image processing, information security and information industry economics have formed characteristics and advantages.
The two achievements won the second prize of the National Science and Technology Progress Award, and "TePA" became the first international standard submitted and adopted by my country in the field of basic information security technology.
It has undertaken more than 600 national and provincial and ministerial level scientific research projects such as the National Natural Science Foundation, the National Social Science Fund, and the National Major Science and Technology Project, and has won more than 160 national, provincial and ministerial level scientific and technological achievement awards.
The faculty and staff of the school have published more than 16,000 papers, of which more than 3,500 papers have been included in SCI and EI, obtained more than 800 national patents and software copyrights, and published more than 460 textbooks and books.
