Does Shanghai Silicate Research Institute of Chinese Academy of Sciences identify porcelain?

China Academy of Sciences Shanghai Silicate Institute appraises porcelain.

Shanghai Institute of Silicate, China Academy of Sciences focuses on advanced inorganic materials science and engineering. The main research fields include performance testing and characterization of high-performance structural ceramics, functional ceramics, transparent ceramics, ceramic-based composites, artificial crystals, inorganic coatings, energy materials, biomaterials, ancient ceramics and advanced inorganic materials. It is the most comprehensive research institute in this field in China.

Shanghai Institute of Silicate of China Academy of Sciences (referred to as Shanghai Institute of Silicate for short) was formerly the Academy of Engineering of China Academy of Sciences, which was established in 1928, and 1953 was renamed the Institute of Metallurgical Ceramics of China Academy of Sciences. 1959 was established independently, named as Institute of Silicate Chemistry and Engineering of China Academy of Sciences, and 1984 was renamed as Shanghai Institute of Silicate of China Academy of Sciences.

After more than 90 years of development, Shanghai Silicate Research Institute has become an inorganic nonmetallic material research institution integrating frontier exploration, high-tech innovation and application development research, forming a relatively complete scientific research system combining "basic research, applied research, engineering and industrialization research".
