Focus Home Network: Your company mainly produces bamboo flooring, but as far as I know, the development time of bamboo flooring in China is not long now. Why did you choose this relatively small field in the first place?
Panden: Because at that time, we thought bamboo products were a very promising industry because its raw materials grew rapidly. Unlike wood floors, they are greatly influenced by raw materials. In addition, we feel that environmental protection is advocated now, and forest resources are becoming more and more scarce, but the raw materials of our bamboo products do not have this problem. And if you want to make wooden floors, many raw materials must be imported from abroad. Now the energy price is so high and the transportation cost is very high, so we think bamboo flooring is a trend in the future.
Focus Home Network: As far as I know, bamboo flooring, as a rising star in the flooring industry, is actually being done by many flooring manufacturers. So what is the current situation of bamboo flooring in China? Are there many enterprises specializing in bamboo flooring?
Panden: Now there are more and more enterprises producing bamboo flooring. Before we started this industry, we also checked it. The capital threshold for entering the bamboo flooring industry is relatively high. We invested more than 5 million pounds in equipment. In other bamboo industries, the threshold of bamboo mats is higher. We can have this advantage. In fact, there are also factories making bamboo-wood composite floors now, but our company specializes in bamboo flooring, and the core product is heavy bamboo flooring. The heavy bamboo flooring was developed by us in 1999 and has been put into production now. Our company wants to make the products better, so the products it operates are relatively simple, and the products are all bamboo.
Focus Home Network: For consumers, the awareness of bamboo flooring may not be too high. How do you introduce your products to consumers?
Panden: The development of bamboo flooring is only ten years, and consumers' awareness of this aspect is really not high. We used wooden floors in ancient China, which is incomparable. According to our experience, in the bamboo flooring market, China is divided into north and south. According to the local environment and people's living habits, bamboo products are recognized in the north. Because there are fewer bamboo products in the north, he will think that bamboo is a very high-end product. But in the south, such as Zhejiang, Fujian, Jiangxi and Guangdong, there will be more requirements for wood floors. But overall, bamboo flooring is still insufficient in consumer cognition, so we still have a lot of work to do in product promotion. However, as we can see, with the rising of prices and the limitation of resources, the wooden floor has a development restriction. This aspect is still very promising as a bamboo floor.
Focus Home Network: Are Yafeng's products mainly aimed at domestic market or foreign market?
Panden: Yafeng used to be mainly engaged in foreign markets, and its reputation in foreign markets was very good. We are the first manufacturer of this product, and now we are the largest manufacturer of heavy bamboo products in China. Many solid wood floors also hope to cooperate with us to expand the domestic market. Yafeng officially launched the development of the domestic market this year, and the overall operation has detailed operational procedures. We came to Guangzhou to participate in the exhibition this time, mainly for publicity and negotiation with dealers. Up to now, there are about hundreds of companies that have negotiated with us, and the effect is not bad.
Focus Home Network: Just now, you said that elegance is mainly export-oriented. In this economic situation this year, the overall environment is not very good in terms of export tax rebate and inflation. Does Yafeng have any feelings in this regard?
Panden: Our tax refund policy hasn't changed much, mainly because of the change of exchange rate, and our profits are gradually decreasing. Our costs are increasing, our prices are rising, and our export profits are getting lower and lower, so we can only expand into the domestic market. We began to focus on developing the domestic market this year, and there are also considerations based on this.

Panden: It mainly depends on the operation modes of major manufacturers. If it is a value war, there is definitely no prospect for low quality to impact the market.
