School Ranking
At present, it seems that only the University of Sydney and the University of Melbourne in Australia are ranked internationally, but they are completely incomparable with the top 20 schools in the UK. If you return to China after completing your studies in the future, your HR in Australia will always be at a lower level than those in the UK and the United States in foreign companies if you look at your CV alone.
2 Academic level
The level of master's education in Australia is far worse than that in the UK, not to mention the teaching staff. Professors who can't succeed in the UK come here and are in vain. When considering applying, don’t just save the trouble and apply to Australia. There will be a lot of trouble in the future. Teachers are lazy. Many professors are very discriminatory and provide little help to Chinese students. When it comes to finding faults in homework, wasn't there a plagiarism incident in Newcastle some time ago? If you forget to cite some parts of your own homework, you will be judged as plagiarism.
You will fail the course directly this semester, and then you will retake the exam and pay again, and all those who fail will be Chinese. Here, Malaysians and Vietnamese have a higher status than you. Now people feel that many schools in Australia are unscrupulous and try their best to make money. Of course, if you can apply to the University of Sydney and the University of Melbourne, you can consider it. To be honest, Australia's academic level is incomparable to that of the University of Hong Kong and the National University of Singapore. The teachers in these schools are all Chinese, and there is much less discrimination against Chinese people.
3 Discrimination is serious
Discrimination exists in any country, but the feeling of real danger to life is most obvious in Australia. (I have been to the UK, the US and Europe, and have been on land for more than 2 years.) In the eyes of Americans and Europeans, Australia is their countryside, and country people naturally have lower quality.
LZ was walking on the road, and sometimes when a car passed by, there would be those young people in their 20s, swearing at Chinese people in the car. Many times, some of my friends who were born had eggs thrown in their faces on the roadside. My friend was crossing the road in broad daylight in Sydney and was punched in the face by a white beggar girl who ran towards me.
These are impossible to happen in big cities in the UK during the day. My Canadian friends have never told me such a thing.
4 Consumption
Currently, prices in Australia are soaring. The author has carefully calculated the expenses and found that the cost of living is the same as that in the UK and about 30% higher than that in the United States. In NSW, the bus fare for foreigners is three times that of locals, while in the UK, as long as you are a student, you can get one. There is also discrimination in the UK, but it is not enforced by law and it is not so obvious. The British know that China is now starting to become stronger and should not be underestimated.
5 Application is simple
They just want to make money from you, so of course they open their doors to welcome you? LZ sincerely hopes that friends who are applying to come to Australia now will think twice.
6 Immigration roads are blocked
Most people come here to immigrate, unless they are in certain majors that are in short supply, such as nursing and computers. Now it is very difficult to graduate and immigrate. It is difficult for fresh graduates without experience to find a job. Many people who graduate from a bachelor's degree continue to study for a master's degree and return to their country after graduation. This is the choice of people in their 70s, and they end up spending a lot of money.
7 Culture
Australian culture is lackluster. Compared with the UK, Australia has no history. Friends who have returned from the UK feel a little aristocratic, gentlemanly and well-dressed. Tasteful. Australians are inherently sloppy, so I guess they won't change how they were when you came back. There is no diversity and fashion here in the United States. So it’s culturally boring too.
If you really like this place, you can work for 3 or 5 years and wait until Gillard is overthrown to see if there are any new policies before making any plans.
If you just want to, there are many choices, including Singapore, Canada, the United Kingdom and the United States. Don’t be lazy for a moment and regret it for life.
The above is information related to regrets about going to Australia. I hope it can help you.
