Among them, there were 526,000 invention patent applications, a year-on-year increase of 34.5%, 585,000 utility model patent applications, and 522,000 design patent applications; the number of three types of patent authorizations was 961,000, a year-on-year increase of 17.9%, of which invention patent authorizations 172,000 pieces, a year-on-year increase of 27.4%, 408,000 utility model patents were authorized, and 381,000 design patents were authorized.
According to the latest statistics from the State Intellectual Property Office, as of the end of 2011, my country had a total of 2.740 million valid patents, a year-on-year increase of 23.6%, of which 697,000 were valid invention patents, a year-on-year increase of 23.4%. There are 1.121 million valid utility model patents and 922,000 valid design patents. Among the valid invention patents, there are 351,000 domestic ones, accounting for 50.4% of the total. The number of invention patents per 10,000 people in China (excluding Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan) reached 2.37.
It is worth noting that in 2011, my country accepted 17,473 PCT international patent applications, a year-on-year increase of 35.3%.
