Among the basic research and industrial development technologies for licorice applications, the "new process for efficient extraction and purification of multiple active ingredients of licorice for industrial production" was nominated by the Ministry of Education for the second prize of the National Science and Technology Award in 2005. In cooperation with the Harbin Summer Licorice Research Institute, the first standardized northern Ural licorice planting base was established in Daqing. By the end of 2004, it had achieved a cumulative output value of 9.33 million yuan, driving the planting of local farmers and increasing their income.
