Generally speaking, economic disputes are civil disputes, and the police can't directly intervene in the content of economic disputes. The police have no relevant authority and can mediate to some extent, but they can't directly decide who is right or wrong. Economic disputes are generally resolved through judicial channels, that is, civil litigation.
There are two kinds of economic disputes:
1, economic contract disputes, such as sales contract disputes, loan contract disputes, contract disputes, construction project contract disputes, technology contract disputes, etc. ;
2. Economic infringement disputes; Such as intellectual property rights (such as patents and trademarks) infringement disputes, ownership infringement disputes and management rights infringement disputes.
In the market economy, contract is a legal and universal form for equal market participants to establish trading relations and carry out trading behaviors in pursuit of economic goals. Therefore, contract disputes are the main part of economic disputes. The scope of accepting economic cases refers to which economic dispute cases are accepted by the people's courts. Determining the scope of accepting economic cases by people's courts can clarify the division of labor and authority of accepting economic disputes among people's courts, arbitration institutions and relevant administrative departments. The people's courts shall accept cases of disputes over economic rights and interests between legal persons, other organizations and citizens and between them due to property relations. It mainly includes all kinds of contract disputes and economic damage compensation disputes.
Criminal Procedure Law of the People's Republic of China
Article 19 Criminal cases shall be investigated by public security organs, except as otherwise provided by law. Crimes such as illegal detention, extorting confessions by torture, and illegal search. The people's procuratorate may file a case for investigation of illegal acts found by judicial personnel in the process of legal supervision of litigation activities. If a major criminal case of a functionary of a state organ under the jurisdiction of a public security organ needs to be directly accepted by a people's procuratorate, it may be placed on file for investigation upon the decision of a people's procuratorate at or above the provincial level. Cases of private prosecution are directly accepted by the people's courts.

Article 3 The provisions of this Law shall apply to the people's courts in accepting civil lawsuits brought by citizens, legal persons, other organizations and among them because of property relations and personal relations.
