What is the difference between active probiotics and inactivated probiotics?

Many people think that adding probiotics to toothpaste is a gimmick of the seller and has no practical effect. They also think that even if it is really added, it is still dead bacteria, and only live bacteria can work. This idea is actually wrong.

In the report of China Journal of Microecology, it is clear that live probiotic preparation is potentially harmful to patients with immune deficiency. Mutation of bacteria, transfer of abnormal parts and drug-resistant gene transfer may increase the risk of treating bacteria, especially for some patients with low immunity, taking or homogenizing machine can easily cause case reactions.

Some scientists have specially conducted experiments on this. Scientists cloned Lactobacillus in young mice with immune deficiency, and some mice with Lactobacillus cloned died, and similar phenomena appeared in adult mice with severe immune deficiency. Therefore, in comparison, inactivated probiotics have higher safety, and there is no limit on the amount of bacteria.

In the experiment of inactivating probiotics, the researcher perfused the rats with tumor cells every day through thermal inactivated Lactobacillus plantarum in the laboratory. The results showed that after transplanting tumor cells, the most obvious effect was to start perfusing them. Experiments show that the effect of inactivating Lactobacillus plantarum is still obvious.

The probiotics added in toothpaste are lactobacillus. It is proved in the laboratory that adding inactivated probiotics in toothpaste is effective, and compared with live bacteria, inactivated probiotics are safer and not limited by the amount of bacteria.
