Chongqing Automobile Institute (formerly Vehicle Institute) has always adhered to the policy of "basing itself on the southwest, serving the weapons industry and the local economic development of Chongqing", cooperated with large enterprises in Chongqing for a long time to carry out the "Industry-University-Research" work with an open mind and innovative mechanism, and formed its own characteristics in vehicle design, parts inspection technology, manufacturing technology, equipment manufacturing design and manufacturing, which has been recognized by the society and received great attention and key support from the Chongqing municipal government. 1996, in 2003, it was confirmed by Chongqing municipal government as one of the "three hospitals and two institutes" for the construction of western automobile city; In 2004, Chongqing Municipal Government decided to establish Chongqing Automobile Institute in Chongqing to support the healthy development of Chongqing's pillar industries. Mayor Wang and Executive Vice Mayor Huang led the leaders of relevant departments and bureaus directly under the municipal government to our school for investigation, and decided to establish Chongqing Automobile Institute on the basis of the original Vehicle Engineering Institute, relying on Chongqing Institute of Technology. The newly established Chongqing Automobile Institute has become an important supporting unit for Chongqing to establish "Western Automobile City" and "Motorcycle Capital of the World".
Chongqing Automobile Institute has full-time teachers 122, including 26 professors, 46 associate professors, 33 doctors, 62 masters, national talents in the new century 1 person, 2 key talents projects in Chongqing, young and middle-aged backbone teachers in Chongqing and outstanding young and middle-aged backbone teachers in Chongqing universities.
There are 9 planned candidates and 3 municipal academic leaders; There are 28 graduate tutors. There are seven undergraduate majors in vehicle engineering, mechanical design and manufacturing and automation, industrial design, industrial engineering, automobile service engineering, thermal energy and power engineering and theoretical and applied mechanics, among which vehicle engineering is a national and municipal major (brand), and there is a master's degree authorization point in mechanical engineering (covering four two disciplines master's degrees in vehicle engineering, mechanical manufacturing and automation, mechatronics engineering, mechanical design and theory). It has 2 key laboratories of Ministry of Education 1, Chongqing 1 and Chongqing Engineering Technology Research Center. In 2005, the Municipal Education Commission approved the establishment of distinguished professor, a Bayu scholar in vehicle engineering.
The College has successively undertaken more than 230 projects such as the National Natural Science Foundation Project, the "863" Project, the National Science and Technology Key Project, the Key Teacher Program of the Ministry of Education, the National Defense Pre-research Fund, the Chongqing Science and Technology Key Project, and the projects entrusted by enterprises, with funding of more than 40 million yuan, and won 20 scientific and technological achievement awards above the provincial level, 6 teaching achievement awards above the provincial level, published more than 500 academic papers and obtained more than 80 patents.
The college pays attention to cultivating students' innovative spirit and practical ability. In recent years, our college has actively organized students to participate in the national college students' mechanical innovation design, mathematical modeling, challenge cup, robot contest, automobile design, international enterprise challenge and other competitions, with excellent results; Students have also made breakthroughs in patent applications. In the past three years, they applied for more than 65,438+000 patents, of which more than 70 were approved. Our college pays attention to giving full play to students' specialties and building a stage to show their talents. The comprehensive quality of students has been greatly improved. In recent years, the employment rate of graduates in our college is above 95%, ranking among the best in our college.
