What is the relationship between Wuhou District and High-tech Zone?

Chengdu High-tech Zone does not belong to Wuhou District. It is a newly established district after the original five districts in Chengdu, but some of its divisions are drawn from the original Wuhou District. Chengdu is responsible for the high-tech zone. Not a special administrative region, there is no administrative division code. Just enjoy the same administrative treatment as Wuhou District.

Wuhou District was formally established in June19911. Located in the southwest of Chengdu, named after Wuhou Temple, it borders Qingyang District, Jinjiang District, jinniu district, chenghua district and Shuangliu District. Wuhou District has a long history and rich cultural and educational resources. There are famous places of interest at home and abroad, such as Wuhou Temple and Wangjianglou, which are colorful and fascinating. It has gathered dozens of well-known universities and research institutes such as Sichuan University and Chengdu Branch of Chinese Academy of Sciences. Social undertakings lead development, and public services are balanced at a high level. It is a "national regional education balanced development characteristic demonstration area" and "national community health service demonstration area".

Wuhou District was named "High-tech Cultural Zone" and "National Advanced Zone of Scientific and Technological Progress" by the State Council. The "Science and Technology Street" in this area is the second largest information product distribution center in China, and many world-renowned enterprises such as AMD and Lenovo have set up regional marketing headquarters here. There are high-tech and innovative enterprises 158 in the whole region, and the number of patent applications and authorizations has been in the forefront of the city for many years. High-tech industries such as electronic information and biomedicine have become important pillars of development.
