The most critical component of a good laser printer is the toner cartridge, also called the photosensitive drum. It not only determines the quality of printing, but also determines how much money the user needs to spend during use. In a laser printer, more than 70% of the imaging components are concentrated in the toner cartridge, and the quality of printing is actually determined to a large extent by the toner cartridge. The toner cartridge model refers to the toner cartridge model that can be used with this printer. Generally, the toner cartridge model recommended by the manufacturer that matches the printer will be used. Different models cannot be used unless they are refilled and used.
Toner cartridges are generally composed of aluminum tubes and photosensitive materials. Their surfaces are generally composed of three layers of materials, and some special toner cartridges have 4 to 5 layers of materials on their surfaces. In addition to the first three layers of ordinary toner cartridges, the fourth and fifth layers are designed to protect the photosensitive layer to ensure the long life of the toner cartridge.
There are two types of toner cartridges: integral (or integrated) and separate. The integrated toner cartridge is mainly designed to install the toner cartridge and photosensitive drum in the same device. When the toner is used up or the photosensitive drum is damaged, the entire toner cartridge must be scrapped. The models using this type of toner cartridge are mainly HP and Canon models. This unique design increases the printing cost for users and is very harmful to environmental pollution, but it also brings problems to manufacturers. Huge profits. Separate toner cartridges, toner and photosensitive drums are each placed on different devices. Photosensitive drums generally have a long life and can generally print up to 20,000 sheets. Just replace the used toner, so the user's printing cost is greatly reduced.
For laser printer users, there are three options when replacing toner cartridges: original toner cartridges, universal toner cartridges (or compatible toner cartridges), and refillable toner cartridges. Print quality is definitely the first factor that customers need to consider, and there is no doubt that original toner cartridges are obviously the best choice. Because the original toner cartridge is carefully integrated with other parts of the printer during the design process and the manufacturing process is meticulous, it can create ideal printing results that are much better than other compatible products. Due to the manual manufacturing process of refilled toner cartridges, the print quality is even more uneven and difficult to guarantee. It can be said that the print quality of general general-purpose toner cartridges can basically meet the output requirements of the printer, but it may be different in certain special circumstances, such as being blurry when printing 2-point small characters. The printing process always seems very simple. Just connect the printer and send a command to complete it. It is the efforts made in every printing detail that enable users to get ideal printing results just by going through this simple operation process. Users who frequently use printers will have a deep understanding that the edges of text printed on the printer with original toner cartridges are clear, the black is uniform, and the pictures are lifelike and vivid. However, when using other products instead, the effect is far behind. This is because engineers have conducted a lot of experiments and improvements in the laboratory in order to optimize the printing effect, and even the smallest defects must be eliminated quickly. Therefore, users who pay attention to print quality will choose original toner cartridges without hesitation.
Of course, when we consider print quality, printing cost is also a very important consideration, especially for price-sensitive individual users. Many people will think that although the quality of original products is good, the price is also relatively high. This is actually an incorrect understanding. A large number of objective tests have shown that the single-page printing cost of original toner cartridges is not very high, and the overall cost is It is also relatively low. Due to the long working life of the original toner cartridge, it saves the user more money than the price of the printer itself. Therefore, it is recommended to use original toner cartridges. General-purpose toner cartridges are also produced by famous brands, and product quality is guaranteed. Although their prices are slightly lower than original toner cartridges, the number of prints is lower than that of original toner cartridges, so the overall printing cost is similar to that of original toner cartridges. As for the refilled toner cartridge, although its price is very attractive, because the number of prints is too few or even less than half of the original toner cartridge, its overall printing cost is by no means lower than the original toner cartridge and the general-purpose toner cartridge.
Precautions for toner cartridges:
1. Avoid use and storage in high humidity, high temperature, and cold environments. Do not tear off the seal of the toner cartridge before use, otherwise the toner will agglomerate once it gets wet, affecting the printing effect or causing the print color to be light. If the toner cartridge has been stored in a high temperature or cold place for a long time, return it to room temperature for a period of time before use.
2. Try to avoid exposing the toner cartridge to strong light for a long time.
Do not tear open the plastic bag of the toner cartridge when it is not in use, especially do not open the photosensitive drum light shield on the toner cartridge casually. If the toner cartridge is continuously exposed to strong light for more than ten minutes, the photosensitive drum will be scrapped.
3. When replacing the toner cartridge, it is best to use a vacuum cleaner to clean the place where the toner cartridge is placed in the machine, and use a soft cloth to clean the accumulated paper scraps and toner on the paper path. The exposed electrical contacts can be wiped with a cotton swab dipped in alcohol. , to maintain good electrical contact.
4. Do not turn the OPC drum core by hand without authorization. Be sure to pay attention to the direction when the OPC drum core is rotated. If the rotation direction is incorrect, the parts will be damaged, resulting in powder leakage or printing stains during printing.
5. When choosing printing paper, do not use paper that is wrinkled, has uneven cuts, or is too thick or hard, as it will affect the print quality and wear out the photosensitive drum.
6. Before putting the toner cartridge into the printer, shake it horizontally 6-8 times to loosen the toner and distribute it evenly. Then pull out the sealing strip, otherwise uneven patches may appear.
7. Keep the toner cartridge away from monitors, hard drives or any other magnetic materials.
