Tesla's new battery patent

At present, the most common reasons for the spontaneous combustion of electric vehicles are that the heat is out of control, the lithium-ion battery generates too much heat, and the discharged hot gas causes the surrounding combustion.

A new patent (U.S. PatentNo. 10763477) shows that Tesla hopes to reduce thermal runaway by connecting the metal-air battery pack to the main battery pack, thus preventing spontaneous combustion.

Tesla's patent outlines that the two battery packs will be connected through pipes and valves. If the thermal runaway starts, the valve will open, allowing hot gas to flow through the metal-air battery pack, thus cooling the gas before it escapes from the car.

We have reason to believe that Tesla will announce such a patent on the upcoming Tesla Battery Day on September 22nd, and even reveal the latest breakthrough of metal-air battery. After all, it is only meaningful to add this practical metal-air battery pack to the battery pack currently in use.
