Defect analysis in the application of halogen-free flame retardants

1. Nylon magnesium hydroxide, aluminum hydroxide, ammonium polyphosphate, MPP (Ciba M200), MCA, coated red phosphorus, modified MCA

2. Fiber addition Flame retardant nylon Clariant 1312 (1311), ammonium polyphosphate, MPP, 200A, coated red phosphorus

3. Polyurethane TPU phosphate ester flame retardant, MPP, ammonium polyphosphate, 400A, Clariant OP series flame retardants

4. Polyester PBT/PET phosphate ester flame retardants, MPP, MCA, Clariant OP1240, 300A, ammonium polyphosphate

5.SEBS, EVA Clariant OP, ATH, MH, wrapped with red phosphorus, zinc borate, ultra-high molecular siloxane, 100D

Disadvantage analysis:

1. Nylon: magnesium hydroxide, hydrogen Adding too much alumina affects physical properties. Ammonium polyphosphate is easy to decompose during processing, and the product is easy to hydrolyze. MPP is difficult to process and the physical properties of the product are too poor. Products made by MCA will drip seriously when burned. Coated red phosphorus is colored, easy to precipitate, and has poor electrical properties.

2. Fiber-added flame-retardant nylon: Clariant 1312 (1311) is too expensive and not cost-effective. The disadvantages of ammonium polyphosphate, MPP and coated red phosphorus are the same as above. 200A has a small amount of addition (18%-23%), no precipitation, and no water absorption. The price is 50% of Clariant 1312 (1311). It is cost-effective and the product performance is close to that of Clariant products.

3. Polyurethane TPU: Phosphate ester flame retardants are easy to precipitate and may drop melt when burning. Ammonium polyphosphate, MPP is the same as above, 400A, with small addition amount (16%-18%), no precipitation, no water absorption, and high cost performance.

4. Polyester PBT/PET: Phosphate ester flame retardant, MPP, MCA, ammonium polyphosphate have the same disadvantages as above. The price of Clariant OP1240 is too high and not cost-effective (150 yuan/KG). 300A, the price is less than half of Clariant OP1240, the addition amount is small (15%-18%), and the product performance is close to that of Clariant products.

6.SEBS, EVA: Clariant OP series flame retardants, ATH, MH, wrapped red phosphorus have the same disadvantages as above. Zinc borate and ultra-high molecular siloxane are added in large amounts and have poor flame retardant effects. 100D has no precipitation, does not absorb water, and is cost-effective.
