The safety of marker genes has attracted the world's attention. Although some safer marker genes have been developed for research, all the above marker genes have some shortcomings, such as the transformation efficiency needs to be improved, the detection process needs to be improved, the screening agent needs to be optimized, and the application scope needs to be broadened. Therefore, someone has designed a plant transformation system without carrier skeleton and marker genes to solve these problems.
At the 7th Congress of Chinese Genetic Society held in Haikou in July, 23, some scholars put forward this idea. The technical core of this idea is to construct a linear gene transformation element composed of the target gene, the expression control sequence and the bilateral boundary sequence * * *, and then carry out gene transformation operation through the pollen tube pathway, and then carry out necessary detection by molecular means to obtain transgenic plants without vector skeleton sequence and marker gene. It is considered that this method is suitable for any transgenic plants with vector skeleton sequence and marker gene in theory.
It is said that this method has applied for an international invention patent. The disadvantage of this method is that it requires plants to be in pollination period, so its application is limited to some extent.
