Li Wei’s main achievements

Mainly engaged in the research, development and production technology of metal-based biomedical materials, metal wear-resistant materials, composite materials, material processing engineering and material corrosion and wear. It has accumulated rich experience in the research, development and industrialization of wear-resistant materials, and has expertise in industry-university-research work, especially in the transformation of scientific and technological achievements and the engineering and industrialization of high-tech new materials. He has presided over and undertaken more than 20 national, provincial and ministerial level science and technology projects as well as engineering and industrialization projects of scientific and technological achievements. He won the third prize of the National Science and Technology Progress Award once, the first prize of the provincial and ministerial level Science and Technology Progress Award 3 times, and 4 times. Won the second prize of the Provincial and Ministerial Science and Technology Progress Award. The industrialization of scientific and technological achievements has significant economic benefits. He has obtained 4 invention patents, published and read more than 40 papers at home and abroad, published 1 monograph, and edited or participated in the editing of 3 industry technical manuals. Formulated and revised 3 national technical standards.

In 1996, he was identified as one of the first batch of cross-century academic and technical leaders of China Nonferrous Metals Industry Corporation (later the National Nonferrous Metals Industry Bureau); in 1996, he was among the first batch of selected national "Hundred Thousand Talents Project" First and second levels; received special government allowances issued by the State Council in 1997; was named a national expert with outstanding contributions in 1998. He once served concurrently as the leader of the Metal Materials Professional Evaluation Group of the National Nonferrous Metals Industry Bureau’s Senior Professional and Technical Positions (Senior and Deputy Senior) Review Committee, and the deputy director of the Technical Committee of Guangdong Guangyan New Materials Technology Co., Ltd. He currently serves as the executive director of the Casting Branch of the Chinese Mechanical Engineering Society, the deputy director of the Wear-Resistant Materials Academic Committee of the Chinese Metal Society, and the deputy director of the Steel Casting and Melting Committee of the Chinese Mechanical Engineering Society. In 2010, he was responsible for the establishment of the "Steel Wear-Resistant Materials Industry Technology Innovation Strategic Alliance", a national industry-university-research technology innovation organization. In 2012, he served as the main person in charge of establishing the "Guangdong Wear-Resistant Materials Industry-Academic-Research Technology Innovation Alliance" and served as the chairman of the alliance.
